Walgreens Exclusive Black Series 6-Inch Prototype Boba Fett

Posted on July 2, 2014 at 9:30 am by Joe Moore under Star Wars Toy News

After all the speculation, wondering and second guessing, it turns out that Walgreens is indeed getting a Star Wars Black Series 6-Inch Boba Fett Exclusive. StarWars.com has revealed that this isn’t a minor repack or tweak, this is a full on fantastic looking repaint. the figure is a Black Series Prototype Boba Fett. In the original concept art for the character, by Ralph McQuarrie and Joe Johnston, Boba Fett was depicted in an all white uniform similar to the Stormtroopers. The figure will be available at Walgreens stores this Fall, with pre-orders kicking under way at San Diego Comic-Con.

Check it out after the jump.

Where does it say in that info that it's a "Star Wars Black" Boba Fett? I just see Boba Fett esclusive in action figures. Nothing about it being 6 inch or anything. It could be one'a those Titan Heroes, for cryin' out loud!

That is very true. That's why it's only speculation on which line the figure belongs to at this time.

did anyone else notice it does say BASIC FIGURE... with store cost of $13.47....given the markup I hope its the SW black 6in but its sounding like a titan at the moment... 1 shelf spot and 2 per case??

Right under the $13 it says everyday retail $19.99 the same price point as every other store for the 6" SWB figs. It could be one of those 5PA figs akin to the early 80's figs, but if they think the basic $6 figure should turn that much of a profit they are nuts. That's why bets are on the 6" fig.

I really hope that this is the 6" figure since I have never seen that in person and the after-market prices are way too high, the rest of his wave peg-warms my stores. Maybe this'll be a Return of the Jedi deco on the figure with new accessories, either way I want this. I think the 13.47 is what Walgreens is paying and they sell at 20 (every day retail), the 32.6% seems to back this up.

Bet the "disp" means it will be a pdq display tray.
Maybe we will see a $19.99 Hasbro exclusive endcap for the holidays?

Once again, same as the Agent Venom, 8/27 IS NOT THE DATE HE IS SUPPOSED TO BE IN STORES. It is the date that THAT particular store is getting them in stock for the first time. Other stores could be getting them in sooner.

Also, why do morons keep thinking it's a good idea to post pictures of the AS/400? OH YEAH LET'S JUST TELL PEOPLE STUFF LIKE OUR PROFIT MARGIN. I wish this still had the store # on it so I could report them for being stupid...

Also, the UPC for this is completely different than the UPC for the Black Series Fett, so I wouldn't get your hopes up for a straight rerelease.

well the picture did say $19.99.

So I found out today that there is either a display that is exclusive that is linked to Star Wars Black Series 6" figures that is labeled Boba Fett, and isn't a figure, and costs $20, or that we are definitely getting Star Wars Black Series 6" figures in.

My store is getting them in on August 30th, so as before, like I said before in the thread, it depends on what day of the week your Walgreens gets their trucks in. I also feel bad for whoever took this picture, because my store is getting 3 figures on the 30th, with SIXTEEN more to come, so either four or two full cases. I say four or two, because...

What puzzles me though, is that in addition to this figure, Walgreens is getting in six other figures, all with UPCs that do not match up to any that I have found on Black Series 6" figures in poking around on the internet. The six UPCs are:

    63050925254
    65356992926
    65356997973
    65356997974
    65356997975
    65356997976

If anyone has any idea what figures these are, that would be awesome, because they don't match up to any current Black Series 6" figure UPCs as far as I can tell.

Great, now Star Wars has the new equivalent of a Optimus Prime repaint. Here's the white armor version, in a year we'll have an all-black Boba Fett. And who know's? Maybe in a few years Boba and Evangelion will cross paths and they can make a hideous black/purple/green repaint?

It isn't really an apples to apples comparison, though. The White Armored Boba Fett is an established part of Star Wars lore and is likely to be a pretty sought after figure.

I was kinda hoping it would be a Holiday Special Boba Fett, but the concept Boba Fett isn't a bad choice. Not something I'll go out of my way to get, but if I can, I might pick one up.

Oh, I'm sure Hasbro will figure out a way to work in the SWHS deco somewhere. After that, probably a basic Mandalorian trooper remold.

To add to what Joe said, White Boba Fett predates White Optimus Prime by about a decade, as well.

(EDIT: I do not count G1 Ultra Magnus, even though he technically came with a white redeco of the G1 Prime cab).
