The Toyark is continuing it’s shoots for the DC Collectibles Designer Series today with the Greg Capullo Batman. This is our first alternate take on the New 52 design originating with Jim Lee. Capullo’s vision gives Batman a beefier look, an almost Frank Miller Dark Knight Returns look while still staying true to the new form. A nice visual fade into the recently unveiled Batman from Batman/Superman. Check out over 35 shots and our thoughts after the break!
DC Collectibles Designer Series Greg Capullo Batman
Pros:
Clean lines
Cape styling
More muscular than the New 52 figure
Above average articulation for DCC
Awesome head sculpt
Cons:
Angular shoulders and unique face makes merging into shelves more difficult
Overall:
Great figure. The articulation is welcome. Not full on like other lines, but well above the early New 52 figures. It is pretty close to how I would like it for posing and shelf fitting. The unique look of the mouth area, and obvious shoulder angles make it stand out, which is the point of this designer series. However, if you are trying to replace a Batman, or merge into a shelf, he may not work with other figures depending on how picky you are. The batarangs are nice, but it’s very difficult to get all 3 to stay put between his fingers. This is the level of figure I want standard from DCC, weight, plastic quality, articulation, design. Hopefully they continue it with additional lines, not just the Designer Series.
Check out over 35 shots below, and stay tuned for Nightwing and The Riddler!

the sculpting on Talon is pretty fantastic. Articulation looks good. Glad to see no breakage issues with this one.
looks really good...also can see a redesign to make a custom Japanese Batsuit easily
Batman up.
Yeah, sculpts are great. Batman is noticeably "Designer", more so than Talon, but I'm cool with that.
And no, no breakage issues. Did not feel like that was a potential issue at all throughout any of the shoots. Medium soft plastic. Not as soft as Arkham Origins Batman, but not as hard as New 52 Bats. Just right.
Awesome looking figures. Now please do a Francis Manapul Flash and Cliff Chiang Wonder Woman! Also, pre-New 52 classic designs with similar articulation!
Also, a J.H. Williams III Batwoman would be great as well.
For Talon, out of curiosity, is is head removable? If so, I think he would be a great custom for some other character.
Holy crap Talon looks amazing. And also one of the characters I'm hoping makes it to the roster of Injustice 2.
These figures turned out great. I may have to get Talon now that I've seen the production version, I only pre-ordered Batman and Riddler.
not likeing cap to much mostly good for actiong poses not good compared to first new 52 batman stand there in menacing menacing pose like redising of costume fits with new comics that are being released for him
Great looking figure, I love that he can hold so many batarangs in one hand, that is aweosme! But...I just REALLY wish they would put this much effort into some more classic suits. I'd love to have this much detail and articulation on a 70's, 80's and 90's batman.
Ah, there's the DCC we've come to know.
So Nightwing had some breakage, the others didn't. Ehh... I'll be curious to see how many other people end up having problems with these. My Batman and Riddler are on the way.

Every time I see that ridiculously stupid Joker design, I remember the state of current comics and want to die.
Nice figures though, just a shame they're based on a repugnantly awful run.

Also the figures look nice.
Also the figures look nice.
I wish that Nightwing was in blue. I'd consider custom-painting it, but I couldn't do the finger stripes.
to anyone who has these can someone please please please give me a couple size comparison shots with a standard DCUC
This makes me curious to get the crime syndicate figures. I wish they did this sooner so we could have batman inc bats & damian in full articulation
