Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutated Baxter Stockman Figure

Posted on May 6, 2014 at 8:56 am by Joe Moore under Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Toy News

Playmates Toys has sent out a photo of their next Baxter Stockman figure, the mutated fly version! The upcoming figure is based on this past weekend’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles episode titled “The Lonely Mutation of Baxter Stockman“. The photos shows a prototype, so some details may change before release. What do you think of the newly mutated Baxter Stockman?

Check it out after the jump.

Oh sweet! They are going to do the fly Stockman story line.
    ...
    Pun not intended.

I'm glad they found a way to include the robotics angle alongside it though. I wonder if this means they might start trying to work out a "cure" for the mutagen too.

i guarantee you that the actual figure that gets released is going to look worse.. it'll have less paint and be less detailed which is a shame because this looks awesome.

They did the Fly Storyline on May 4th. was pretty brutal. He was vomiting acid on his food.
And Donny found a retro mutagen on the same episode. takes 10 jars of Mutagen and several months to create 1 retromutagen. They cured Aprils father.

Just looking at the Toy makes me not want to see this episode. Just looking at the toy grosses me out. I think this is too much to see for a lil kid. If Transformers Prime scared kids, this stuff must be terrifing them.

Is David Cronenberg a produce on this show? I love it, but it's scary as hell with all the body horror mutations.

I love this.. I agree with the person who said that if it actually see's shelves that it will be less detailed. It'll go nice with the figures though!

...were you not around during the 80s? The old TMNT line had plenty of toys to rival this in the grossness department. This just has a more detailed fly head than most, that's all.

I was around. But those were all more cartoony. This looks like something from a horror film, which I guess is what they were going for.

Have you seen previous episodes? There are a couple of pretty gnarly ones. Pulverizer Returns! comes to mind.

Original Baxter Stockman, Rat King, Muckman, Wyrm, Pizzaface, Mutagen Man... all of those ranked pretty decently on the gross-o-meter. Yeah, they were a bit more cartoony, but they still had sculpted levels of detail that could make you feel a bit icky. Rat King in particular, mostly because he had a 'less is more' bit going on with his headsculpt evoking crazy, toothless homeless people.

God the Ninja Turtle line is the best thing out there right now. I am sure its getting purchased by kids and collected by adults. Every wave I tell myself "after these I am done" and then they produce more awesome toys and more awesome episodes.

I loved the original turtles, and now I'm picking these up for my kids, but I've noticed that with the exception of the turtles themselves, splinter, rocksteady and bebop, the mutated villians seemed to always follow the same formula: one mutated arm, one human arm, one mutated foot, one human foot, mutated human/animal head, torn cloths (because bad guys always wear the same thing they were mutated in). I like the way that the new series for the most part seems to break that formula up a bit, and the way there starting to introduce a lot of familiar characters from the 80's series in new ways. I can't believe it took them so long to do a successful reboot of this franchise.

The mismatched nature of the mutations in this series really helps to push the idea that mutation is not a pleasant process. Back in the older lines, it always seemed like mutations were pretty clean affairs, depending on the animal/person involved, but I have seen very few mutations in the new series that don't evoke some major horror elements. Snakeweed, Dogpound/Rahzar, Fishface, Baxter, Wing Nut, Ice Cream Kitty... and friggin' Mutagen Man was just horrific.

As for the clothing, well... given how body-modifying a lot of the mutations have been, I doubt many people have multiple outfits that will fit their new bodies.

I've always preferred the cyborg Baxter story line to the 90's Stockman Fly, but I have to say I'm really digging this new version.

Yeah, I think the four Turtles, Splinter and Leatherhead are the only ones I would say that had "clean" mutations - and except for Splinter, they all started as animals first.

If you think about it, it's amazing that Yoshi didn't end up a human/rat/turtle hybrid.

It seems it always worked out better from animal to human instead of the other way.

The frogs, Dirtbag, Ace Duck technically he wasn't a mutant, Mondo Gecko, Mona Lisa, Venus plenty of others.

This is far less gross than Mutagen Man in this same series, I think the one guy wasn't paying attention.

The 80's Mutagen Man was horrifying on the toy and cartoon he fell into pieces then melted then they made fun of him.

I agree about Yoshi but originally he was a rat and seemed to be around the turtles the most a rat turtle pigeon would have been odd too.

^ not to mention all the "human DNA in the sewers of NYC. wasn't Mondo a combination of a skateboarder and his pet Gecko? I have his first appearance comic but it's been a wile... here's some fun turtle facts...

Saw the Stockman Fly ep and I agree it's one of the more unnerving mutations. But I loved the subtle reference to Rocksteady and Bebop.

Weird, pedantic, and irritating video. Scientifically accurate, my ass. The mutagen doesn't exist in reality, so the writers can make it have any effect they want, including making every fact they list in that video invalid.

Sorry, but to me the video came off more as some know-it-all who wanted to gross out viewers and tell dick jokes. It's definitely no Vsauce.

I was only talking about the Nick series, since the Mutagen apparently works differently in that series. It seems like you + whatever you last touched = new mutant.

Yes, I am aware that in other iterations, Splinter starts off as a pet rat. But as I said, I was only talking about the Nick show. That's also why I called him Yoshi and not Splinter (which was the pet rat's name).

I will give the new series credit, they are taking the new series in weird, gross, but cool gross, directions with their designs. I also love the bringing in of old characters. Im dying to see what they do with mondo gecko. XD

I like the concept of Fly Baxter, but definitely wish he was more like the vintage design. I didn't care for his look in the toon and the figure while, not bad, doesn't knock my socks off either.

I was kinda hoping he'd mutate more and get a bit more of a classic look. Still a fun toy though.
