Batman Arkham Origins Play Arts Kai Batman and Deathstroke

Posted on March 4, 2014 at 8:05 am by Joe Moore under DC Toy News, Video Game Toy News

Square Enix is expanding their DC Comics line up with a ton of new releases. While they are giving us all new designs with the DC Comics Variant figures, they are also releasing figures based on existing designs, including the Arkham series of Batman Video Games. Now they have released the first official photos of their upcoming Batman: Arkham Origins Play Arts Kai Batman and Deathstroke Figures. We previously got a look at these two, and many more, during Toy Fair 2014. Price and release date have not been made available. We’ll have more as it becomes available.

Read on to check out the new photos.

Wow! These are excellent! I'm curious to see how much these will cost . . .

I would guess between $80-$90. The cost of the PAK figures keeps rising. I just hope the joints are better than some of their other releases.

Deathstroke looks mint, batmans head sculpt is a fail. PAK always give their figures an anime look why oh why?

As much as I like PAK figures, a $100 a pop for them has put them into the "not worth the money" category for me. I'll be playing the waiting game now and hope for a sale at some point.

Because the company is based in Japan, most likely. They've never done realistic figures but more stylized. In some cases(Final Fantasy, DC Variants) it works well. In others, not so much(Star Trek).

Those prices do keep going up and up and up. They're starting to become prohibitively expensive. A few years back, I wouldn't have had any qualms about dropping money for three or four, but now?

Both look amazin! I already have the Arkham City Robin but that Joker is really itching my hand. Sad thing that each wave the Play Arts Kai gets more and more expensive here on Brazil, I paid something like $80 in local currency on my Robin and Catwoman a year ago (my Dark Knight Returns batman was shipped from HK and was $69)

But now, the prices are inflated to something like $130 for the new figures. Play Arts Kai are out of my league for now. Just out of curiosity, how much costs Play Arts Kai nowadays? I can't see Ebay prices in dolars because now Ebay only shows in local currency and it automatically adds all the government taxes.

Usually between $90 - $130 US depending on the size of the figures and included accessories.

Looks pretty good, i really like how that robin came out, but yea, its going to be an easy pass for me too. As good as it looks now, i m pretty sure PAK will find some way to fail the painting on that headsculpt, which i would not mind at all if its at the old price point of 60-70 bucks a piece, but at a $100 bucks? No. The question of it being out of my league or not is completely irrelevant at this point, I just simply won't pay that kind of money for this kind of quality, so no, thank you.

I'm kinda disappointed with Play Arts Kai at the moment. While I like this Robin and Joker...I'm still waiting for my SDCC Arkham Origins Batman to arrive in the mail.

    Soon!

The pricing on these things is beyond ridiculous. Only reason I got the Variant Batgirl and Variant Supergirl is I wanted them big time. I'm just glad Supergirl's paint apps, especially on her face, were well done.

Still beyond irritated that I can't get a PAK FemShep anywhere...

Cripes, these things got expensive. I was tempted to get that Robin because I'm a fan of that redesign from the game, but that's too much money for me. I've never been a huge fan of the way the joints look, and they sometimes go overboard with paint washes and shading.

Love the look of PAK Deathstroke, but the price unfortunately makes this a pass.

Because that's the whole point of this line. It's PAK's artistic take on preexisting character designs. And as Shadowknight1 mentioned, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
