Playmates is not allowing anyone to photograph the TMNT movie toys.
Any pics that leak out of the movie toys were done so in stealth and without permission of Playmates. We can't post them on front page.
Pics added!
BLIMP. THAT'S A BLIMP. THEY MADE A BLIMP! I MUST HAVE THAT BLIMP.
I can now officially say that Playmates is my favorite toy company. They seem to know exactly what their customers like - whether it's the kids or the collectors. I've only had the occasional nitpicks about their products, but I'm pretty sure even that will cease once they release that blimp.
The remote control patrol buggies are a great idea too. Why do so few companies release r/c vehicles that are compatible with action figures? I likely won't be buying them, but I would have foamed at the mouth as a kid to get those way back when.
Man, they're gonna be getting SO MUCH of my money. Those 90's movie toys look good too.
The movie Turtles don't look too bad. And I'm definitely getting a Slash. So far that's been my favorite episode.
I had no idea that they were making those really cool wall mounted zip line playsets until I saw them at Wally's just today. Then I see the news release at Toyfair today. I can not recall seeing a product at a store before seeing it at Toyfair, and I can not remember these playsets being shown last year or at SDCC. Anyhoo, they look like great sets and this line continues to impress me! I'm thinking of getting the Water Tower one and making it into a hideout for my vintage Storm Shadow figure...
New 2014 movie turtles don't look terrible. I'll more than likely buy all four regardless of how the movie is - I just don't know whether they'll be the basics or the 11" ones. Depends on how they look in person.
I was super excited about the '90 movie Turtles, but seeing all four now, I'm a little less excited. I'd really like to know who made the decision to use those facial expressions. Mikey is the only one that looks spot on, but Leo looks like he did at the end of the movie when Shredder had a blade at his throat, Raph is OK looking and Donnie...yikes. Plus, there's too much white in their eyes. They look more like the cartoony version we got in Secret of the Ooze.

I was hoping for so much more out of these.
The Half-Shell Heroes are cute, and I like Tigerclaw, flysuit Mikey, Slash (although his head's a bit off), and yes, even the LARP Turtles, but HOLY BALLS those 90's movie Turtles are FUGLY. They bodies are alright, but the heads are... not anything I'd ever associate with the film's Turtles. Biotroid's Kraang also looks super "off" and I can't believe they made it look that way (plus wtf is up with the bubble dome?)
The sad thing is, if history repeats itself, everything we saw today will look 10 times worse in the stores.
The movie turtles look just ok to me. I was really hoping they do more characters than just basically release the turtles again. And they don't make that many for this year each year, so I guess that means we have to wait until next year to get a classics shredder?
I was excited when I heard they made a blimp, because I thought they were reissuing the old blimp as part of the classics line. This is still pretty cool though.
Nickelodeon TMNT looks good as usual, I like the emphasis on vehicles. The blimp is foolish. Hope it doesn't ship with a hole in the vinyl like my old one did in the '80s. Mum brought it back & didn't buy another. Grumble.
The classic turtles are cool but wished they stuck with the '80s TMNT style. Was also hoping a classics turtles van would appear, as was rumoured awhile back.
No movie toys blow. Hasbro blew their load on NDA-associated toylines, why not Playmates?
I was hoping for so much more out of these.
But we all have our personal preferences.
I need these...all of them.
I had high hopes for the classic line, and it seems I've been let down again. I have only one and one question about the higher end classic line, and it's this...
"Why does Playmates continue to avoid the Shredder as an offering?"
We got BeBop and Rocksteady for the animated classics line, which were awesome figures, but no Shredder. Now we get a movie line for the classic series, and still...no Shredder. It's a crying shame, because the Shredder looked AMAZING in the original film, and the look still holds up to this day. It's still one of the best comic to film transitions ever done.
Why do they continue to avoid ol' Shred-Head? It just feels like there's so much potential being missed out on there. What we are getting are four heroes, which is great as I really do dig the look of these new figures...but no one for them to do battle with. It's one of the reasons I shied away from Power Rangers when I was younger, because there was never any giant kaiju for the Zords to battle. Had the Shredder been available, the movie wave would have been an instant purchase for me, but it seems I'll be holding off on that for now....
I was really hoping Playmates would heed my suggestions after the representative told me she would relay them to the appropriate people. Now I can see they didn't listen to one word I said. My suggestions had to do with making the shoulders more accurate to how they look in the movies.
Having emailed them only when the Leonardo prototype was revealed, I was not afforded a chance to make suggestions about fixing all 4 heads - which, unfortunately, look to be the same head with 4 different expressions.
Playmates really screwed these up. I was so excited at the prospect of buying all 4 turtles, but now, I think I'm only going to buy Donatello, and take several weeks fixing all the stupid inaccuracies. I'm going to remove his head, throw it in the garbage, and sculpt an entirely new one from scratch. Hopefully I can do something about the shoulders too.

Dude there are HD quality pictures of the new Bay turtles toys over on the technodrome forums... They look better than the initial pictures. Raph still looks dumb. Leo and don look pretty decent though.

The kiddie ones are perfect! I'm glad I decided to get rid of the other Nick toon ones now. These will be perfect to for my son when he gets older.

Silver Centurion we all know good and well that you aren't buying any of these toys for your nephew...
