Toy Fair 2014 – LEGO TMNT

Posted on February 16, 2014 at 8:32 am by Joe Moore under Lego Toy News, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Toy News, Toy Fair

There wasn’t a ton on display at Toy Fair 2014 for LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. They had a sign promoting Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie LEGO, but no figures yet on display. They had the following sets:

  • Karai Bike Escape
  • Mutation Chamber Unleashed
  • T-Rawket Sky Strike
  • Turtle Sub Undersea Chase

I reckon they missed a trick with that X-men Sentinel - if they'd made upscaled minifigs (a bit like those ones that have a torch in the foot), I would definitely have been on board.

That would have been brilliant. But sadly I don't believe Lego's R&D department designs their products with that type of play pattern in mind. Other Lego collectors can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the upscaled Minifigs are able to interact with standard bricks and whatnot (like being able to plug on to a baseplate).

I am looking forward for the Lego Toyfair. They have always been my favorite since childhood.

Yeah, sadly I think you're right.

The old 'kids versus collectors' debate. (We're more important, aren't we!?)
