While everyone is getting ready for the big game today (or the trailers and commercials that goes with it) – we wanted to drop a quick gallery to tide you over. Marvel Legends is back in 2014 with Captain America Winter Solider and Amazing Spiderman 2 themed “Infinite” waves. Infinite seems to be the method of producing figures coming from the universe of the movie, TV or media experience of the moment, but not necessarily versions of the characters from that media. The Captain America wave has a pretty awesome Marvel Now Cap in it, and this wave has several including a comic inspired Black Cat and Superior Spider-Man. Today though, we focus on the man of the moment, Spider-Man. I had some reservations prior to picking him up. Read on to check some quick thoughts and 40 images of Spidey in action!
When this figure was first shown, in person and in product photos, for some reason it didn’t sit right with me. I thought the head was overly thin, a bit smooshed. Couple that with a different method for the webbing (recessed web on the suit with a paint wash to darken the lines), and I was thoroughly put off. However, as more pics came out here on Toyark and on Instagram, I warmed up to him. The head wasn’t was smooshed as I thought, I think we just caught some bad angles early on. The wash seems to be hit or miss, with splotches or a dirty looking finish varying figure to figure. I was able to pick up one that seemed pretty clean through the package, so I grabbed him. And I’m glad I did.
The figure has a wide range of motion like previous spidey figs. The arms are superb, as he can finally cross his arms properly. A big feat for action figures for some reason. The paint, if you get a clean one, is on point, and the recessed webbing does really pop. The best thing I think about this, the white eyes. I didn’t realize how much I didn’t dig the gold movie eyes until they started putting out the new promo art for Amazing Spider-Man 2 with the white ones. That really makes the difference, and it does so here too.
I think the best way to convey the fun and awesome look of this figure is to check the pics. We’ve done over 40 shots of Spidey posing for the camera and swinging around town (in front of the Metroplex building, downtown NYC :) ). Check em out below!

And this is why Marvel toys will *ALWAYS* blow DC toys out of the water... Love the articulation on this guy. Really gives my McFarlane Spidey a run for its money as my top favorite Spidey figure.
*Applies seal of approval*
I will buy this figure, but it has not won me over, maybe once I get it.
If not for the awful looking shoulder joints I'd consider picking him up.
Feels like Hasbro's best attempt at Spider-Man yet.
that paint job looks absolutely horrible.
I'm almost sure that the raised weblines were changed to recessed so that this figure could double as a 616 comic Spidey for collectors. Honestly when I first saw the proto pics from NYCC, I was convinced this WAS 616 Spidey! It's a great figure, with articulation on par with Superior Spidey just a tad different. As far as movie Spidey goes, this is the best one Hasbro has made so far and best one since the Toy Biz lines.
I like how it has swappable hands in lieu of bendable fingers. My only concern is that the pectoral hinges feel a tad weak I hope they do not snap off in the future. Otherwise this is and Superior Spiderman are the best Spiderman figures Hasbro has made in years.
You going to be doing anymore? Maybe some Cap figures or something?
