Marvel Spider-Man Legends Infinite Series Swap Figures Revealed

Posted on November 30, 2013 at 6:02 pm by Shin Densetsu under Marvel Toy News

The Amazing Spider-Man Legends Infinite Series figures were revealed at New York Comic Con 2010. It was stated that there would be swap figures but at the time, it wasn’t known what the swap figures were. Thanks to iReignOPP of TheFwoosh, we now know what those swap figures(aside from the previously known Boomerang swap for Beetle) will be:

  • Eddie Brock Toxin(swap for Carnage)
  • Anya Corazon Spider-Girl(swap for Black Cat)

To break things down further, the regular assortment is made up of 6 figures including the following:

Spider-Man Legends Infinite Series Wave 1

  • Amazing Spider-Man(movie)
  • Electro(movie)
  • Superior Spider-Man
  • Black Cat
  • Beetle
  • Carnage
  • Ultimate Green Goblin(Build-A-Figure)

The alternate assortment includes the swap figures:

Spider-Man Legends Infinite Series Wave 1 Alternate

  • Boomerang
  • Toxin
  • Spider-Girl
  • Superior Spider-Man
  • Amazing Spider-Man(movie)
  • Electro(Movie)
  • Ultimate Green Goblin(Build-A-Figure)

It appears that the new Toxin figure might be using the buck used on the recent Sabretooth figure from the Wolverine Legends line. Read on to check out the newly revealed swap figures!

Joy Joy, more variants that we will never see.

I think that unless Hasbro goes back to over-sized BAFs they should stick to including all variants, running changes and swaps into a single case. I'll chase a Sentinel or an Atlas over two cases no problem, but I think the idea they had for the Jubilee wave is the way to go. Save all the extra Spideys and Electro's for the mass retail market

Think of all the figures we should of gotten: Moonstone, Blade, Sentry, Xforce Archangel, Lyra, FF Doom and Red Deadpool *they got released, but only the the UK and everybody else is paying out the ass for them. Bulldozer, classic Hawkeye, 2 versions of Jean Grey, Jubilee, .... and the list goes on. FUCK OF HASBRO!!! We call you Hasblow because of shit like this. Seriously, give us army builders, reissue figures we want that are either 2 pricey online to buy or haven't been made. Make bases worth buying. multiple accessories, Even if they made the figures all available but online only, I could live with that.

I'm not at all defending Hasbro's short comings with the variants. I'm not that enamored with this Series as well but I do want to say that just from BBTS's pictures of Superior Spider-Man, they did have a minor improvement. I thought Superior Spider-Man would be the same mold as the Big Time, FF, and the Scarlet Spider-Man legends. It may very well still be but at least they added alternate hands(don't see this with western Marvel toys as often). Again, a very minor upgrade but it is something worth clapping for(for now).

With that said, yes, I'm not having high hopes for the variations(that and Jessica Drew 616 Spider-Woman would've been my first pick instead of Spider-Girl).

I just pre-ordered these on BBTS...and after seeing this bulletin after I've already placed my pre-order...I'm spooked. I'm really hoping that BBTS honors the figures listed in the pre-order description(the orginal figures) and doesn't decide to give us the swap figures simply because shipments are "randomly packed." I could live without the Carnage quite honestly (I think the Toxin figure is kinda nifty, and I already have a decent Carnage from the Spiderman line) but that Black Cat and Beetle are exactly what I've been waiting for years for to fill out my rogues gallery. No offense to the completionists, but Boomerang and latina Spider Girl really doesn't do anything for me. Or...Hasbro could just save us the trouble and not release any of those figures like they haven't with so many others...

I really want to make a HULK 2099 figure out of Ultimate Goblin.
I hate that they are raising the price to 20$ ( I remember when Toy Biz ML were $7.99 back in the day). I will most likely order a case and sell off the extra, but Black Cat is the one I am worried about getting.

Actually, I can dig that figure just because I'd paint it up into a regular Spider Woman custom in a heartbeat. But if it means a random toss-up between her and the Black Cat figure, not down with that. In any case, the whole swap figure/running change thing has been a goddamn cluster fk in almost every wave they've tried it, so this news is completely unwelcome.

Yeah I know what you mean. The thing with Hasbro is that they just keep increasing the price and give us inferior products, look at transformers.

Tell me about it..I have a few of them, I'm very picky with this line too, and since the MU has ended, I could go for these...

When I first heard that Hasbro was including a Spider-Girl figure in this line, I assumed that it was going to be a figure of MayDay Parker. I personally have no interest in the character, but I know that there are a plenty of fan-boys and fan-girls who have been clamoring for a figure of her for YEARS :P

Toy Biz made an old May Parker Spider Girl back in the early days, Pre-Legends in a line called 1st Appearances and in the Mego Style 8in Famous Covers line. I would have rather had an early Arana figure when she had the big goggles and the "Spider yo-yo claw" and had the Guyver style blue armor.
