We’re back with another of our Random Photo Shoots. This time for the newly released A Nightmare On Elm Street Freddy Krueger NES Version by NECA. The figure is part of NECA’s Classic Video Game Series. The first figure released was a SDCC Exclusive Friday The 13th Jason Voorhees NES Version. NECA is going to continue this theme of NES era figures with a Robocop NES Version coming in February.
Quick Review
The NES era Freddy Krueger Figure is based on the mold for the regular Freddy Krueger figure. It features a removable fedora. The colors are pretty much spot on compared to the NES video game. It comes packaged in a mock NES A Nightmare On Elm Street Video Game box, with a game screenshot as an insert/backdrop. The Freddy Krueger has articulation in the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, waist and ankles. Unfortunately, like all of the NECA Freddy Krueger Figures, there is no leg articulation at all. A curious choice as the Jason Voorhees features some excellent leg articulation. However, the sculpt on it is extremely detailed, especially in the face and glove. The figure is solid and looks good on the shelf, especially with the Jason. If you don’t already have a Freddy Krueger figure from NECA, then this one is worth a purchase. If you already have one, then this makes a great variation on it. The niche that NECA is going after here is too crazy and cool not to recommend.
