What's up with the tiny heads on the Star Trek figures? Is that style intentional?

I almost picked up the Harley Quinn from my local comic shop yesterday, but just couldn't bring myself to pay that much for a character that I'm only a casual fan of. It was an outstanding figure though. They had Green Lantern, and he looked amazing as well. Initially, I was not a fan of the drastic costume redesigns/reinterpretations, but somehow they are beginning to grow on me. I'd love for Square Enix to acquire the Marvel license and release Marvel figures in this style.

Those Robocop figures make me sad that they're replacing the silver design in the reboot at some point. The silver one really looks like a great update to the design.

And those Star Trek figures are dreadful. Absolutely dreadful.

I wholeheartedly agree When they were first announced, I was ecstatic over the idea of Star Trek figures done in that style. However, when I heard that they were based on Abrams' Star Trek, my enthusiasm decreased somewhat. But then I saw the pics and completely lost absolutely all interest, lol.

I would've been fine with them being Chris Pine's Kirk and Zachary Quinto's Spock if they LOOKED like them. I don't get it. Look at the Man of Steel and Dark Knight figures, they resemble the actors, but these don't even come close.

I'm really sad that the Mass Effect PAK figures are dead in the water. An updated John Shepard with a helmet would've been awesome and totally warranted, and I would've loved to get a Legion or Thane. Guess I'll just buy Femshep while I can and be happy to pair her with my Garrus.

Also, that Big Boss is getting more and more tempting. I have the first sneaking suit version but the head sculpt was always ugly to me.

I was actually REALLY disappointed with how the man of steel series came out. I m not going to complain too much about Superman since I never really wanted to get him anyway, but that Jor-El completely pissed me off. I mean, it was all good when the promotional picture was released, it looked like Russell Crowe, the armor looked great and the paint job looked spot on, but the final product they released is anything BUT those. Face looks like something else entirely, color of the armor is off (same goes for General Zod on this one), and not to mention the paint job is a complete mess. I went in to that store hoping I could come home with a decent Jor-El figure, and that is NOT what they've delivered. What pisses me off even more is the fact that they dare to raise the prices on the man of steel series with that kind of quality. PAK will seriously need to redeem themselves before they will have my support again....
