MattyCollector Powercon Reveals – Official Images

Posted on September 16, 2013 at 2:50 pm by Tony_Bacala under Masters Of The Universe Toy News

Matty Collector has updated with official product images of the reveals from Powercon 2013. Check out clear shots of Battle Lion, Blade and Scorpia, plus details on each after the break!

April 2014 Club Eternia® Figure: Blade
Blade is the first character from the 1987 film to appear in the Classics line. The figure is inspired by the vintage line and sculpted in Classics style by the Four Horsemen, and will include two swords and a “laser” whip.

May 2014 Club Eternia® Figure: Scorpia™
One of the most demanded Filmation characters finally makes her debut! Scorpia™ is a POP bad girl who was one of Hordak’s main henchwomen in the classic TV series and appeared in almost every episode. She’ll feature pincers (like Buzz Off®), her deadly scorpion tail, and a Horde crossbow.

May 2014 Club Eternia® “Oversized” Figure: Battle Lion™
As Battle Cat® is to He-Man®, so Battle Lion™ is to King Grayskull™. Based on an appearance in Episode 35 of the 200X series, his armor is removable and will seat either release of King Grayskull® (figure not included).

Mystery MOTUC Accessory
A mysterious accessory for an upcoming figure was (unofficially) revealed. More details to come at NYCC. (Toyark staff edit – this was Extendar’s shield)

Castle Grayskull® Update
We know we’ve posted lots of photos and videos as production has progressed, but honestly, they just can’t do justice to the real thing – it’s a BEAST! We’re super stoked to see how it’s coming along and can’t wait to ship it to you later this year. For now, have a look at the box art in full color and a closer-to-final castle. This latest model has an elevator with improved functionality, a new paint job, and the chains in the dungeon have been upgraded from plastic to real metal!

2014 Club Eternia® Re-opening 9/20-9/24
Pretty awesome reveals, right? You’re going to want every one of them when they’re released so if you missed your chance to sign up for 2014 Club Eternia®, here’s one more opportunity! We’re re-opening sign-ups from Friday 9/20 9am PT through Tuesday 9/24 11:59pm PT.

Show is going on this weekend. Mattel and Playmates will be there with new MOTUC and Turtles reveals. Four Horsemen are also there with their own lines Gothitropolis and Power Lords. We should have info and pics later (not doing live coverage), but feel free to discuss anything that pops up here.

Playmates better have fixed the tiny shoulders I told them about from the live-action TMNT toys.
For anyone wondering what I'm talking about, here's the visual:

The shoulders on the Leo prototype are too small, and set too low on the body.

Unless Mattel is going to announce their plan for the DC Line I wont even be checking. Wow the Bird figure is nothing more then a Converted Beast Boy/Jayna eagles. And the others Bird Guys are Base Molds of Man-Bat with a new upper body at least they look that way without seeing them in hand. Way to spare the molds 4H.

Wish they would've mass released those MOTU Ravens. I'd love to have a set. And Idk who these "new" Power Lords critters are, but I like them. I might have to go ahead and pick up the line. I wish they were 7" scale though.

if you have the DCUC or DCSH Man-Bat then look at the pictures of the Bird Men there are similar POA's (Thats from pictures) and the Eagles are 100% the same as Jayna and Beast Boys eagle all are Made by 4H (Though Mattel is on the DCUC/DCSH were Tooled by 4H)

Day one recap pictures are up, check front page or first post for links. Should have more later today of anything new, and additional shots of this stuff.

Can't wait for Bebop and Rocksteady, the in package shots make it real. Modern Turtles stuff looks good, tho I'm not collecting it personally. Snake Mountain - awesome, but no room . MOTUC - As always, great sculpts and paint, but not collecting anymore.

Um, we all know they're 100% the same. It's not like they're trying to hide that fact. The "Eagles" are certainly nothing new. They're just there for reference. The 4H are auctioning off three of the Gothitropolis Raven variants hand-painted to homage those three well-known MOTU birds.

And the "Man-Bat as a base mold" claim is astoundingly ridiculous, no offense. Their POAs are not similar. That can be gleaned easily from any pictures released of the Raven variants thus far. Not sure where you're looking.

I swear you all see colors different and go "Different figure" Why would they go and make a brand new Base for something so similar? the Legs are Very, very similar they just flipped them around so the front is now the back. Either way it makes no difference to me what they do with MOTU stuff. I'm not getting any of it anyway so they could take the same figure and make it 15 times slap new paint on it and claim its someone new.

I haven't bought a TMNT toy from the new cartoon after getting the 4 basic turtles - nothing else has interested me from that line - until now. I will be getting Battle Shell Donatello.
My 2 favorite recurring gimmick figures from all TMNT lines are the opening shells for storage, and the mutating baby turtles.

The 1990 live-action movie, super articulated figures, on the other hand, have probably been my most anticipated toy in my whole life. I've been waiting for them since I was a little kid.

Mutagen Man?! Now that's cool. Maybe we'll get a new Wingnut and Screwloose out of this line after all.

Bebop and Rocksteady look nice. I really want to see if they'll do Shredder, Krang (in his robot body) and the Foot Clan.

That actually won't bother me that much, as long as articulation doesn't suffer.

I'm definitely looking forward to the new Mutagen Man figure. Looks like he should be a fun figure, even with the limited articulation. Squirrelenoid looks pretty good too, though much... MUCH bigger than I was expecting. I like the reference to Alien, so I'll probably get one of these guys too. Kirby Bat on the other hand... will most definitely not be added to my collection... It's an interesting idea, I'll give them that, but the figure just looks... bad... Anyways, it's nice to see the basic sized battle shell Turtles out on display. I'll at least be getting Raph, if not the other three. It'll be great to have show-accurate Turtles, but... I know regret getting the wave one figures. Speaking of which, I have no idea what I'm going to do with them...

Speaking of the Alien reference, I totally want to see Squirrelenoid vs Newtralizer (SVN?) episode/scene.

Battle Lion, Yes, Now complete the King Greyskull era set with his wife, Queen Veena, who became the first Sorceress. Scorpia, Double Yes!!, More Horde...come on Dragstor and Multibot...Daddy needs a complete Horde set. And Triple Yes for Blade, I love the new sculpt. I know we will only see Gwildor and Saurod, since they had original figures, But Man I would love for them to find a way to get Movie Skeletor, He-Man, and Evil-Lyn. Meg Foster was a really good version of Evil-Lyn.

  22. trebleshot's Avatar trebleshot says

The TMNT Power Shell Turtles and all the new villains/side characters will be bought on sight. I think I might start getting the Classics now as well, since the roll-out for them seems to be much slower. That makes it easier to justify $20 a pop. I will probably have to grab BBop and RS before I complete the set of "Toitles", though.

The MOTUC stuff looks great, and I would totally pick up Blade and Battle Lion if I were collecting the line.

You act like that's something new.

Btw, how's that DCUC collection looking? Looks like a lot of the same toy with slightly different parts and maybe some different paint....

If by that you mean "different toy", I'm sure most toy collectors aren't that naive.

If you mean "different character", then yes. Sometimes it's based on the character's original toy. For example, the original Transformers Seeker trio of Starscream, Skywarp and Thundercracker all used the Machine Robo "JetRobo" toy mold, just with different color schemes to differentiate them. And it's been that way for them ever since (with a few exceptions here and there).

In fact, some fans actually get upset when they don't share the same exact mold. I'm not upset, but I know I personally would love to see a stateside release of Starscream and Skywarp using the newer MP-11 mold.

There is not a meme or gif big enough to show how much truth is in this statement. She and Frank Langella were the highlights of the film for me.

Oddly enough, I may actually want a Movie He-Man. MOTU fans would probably kill me for that, but, I'd grab that. Just for the silliness factor. Subscription to get that, hell no. But I'd pick it up solo with a mark up.

  24. CMIII's Avatar CMIII says

I mean the different character. I'm sure most companies do the same thing 1,000 times to cut cost take the Base mold move this, invert that, change the face slightly, slap a different color paint on it and boom new character. Heck with the DCUC molds the same head base was used on Katma Tui, Mary Batson, and Dove they just legenthend the hair on Mary made it brown then turned it white and made a converted it to a ponytail. One thing I do not get is if Mattel claims it costs So much for figures and they cannot justify the DC Club then why is money being spent on other figures for the other being made couldn't that money be spent on producing the DC figures. It's very apparent Mattel wanted the DC line to end

I feel the same. Leo looks great, and I'm going to buy all 4 turtles either way. But I'm glad I emailed them as soon as SDCC was over. It's better to try to catch and fix the inaccuracy early than not trying at all. The representative did say she would pass the information on. So, fingers crossed.
