SO where is the Rick Exclusive going to be??? And why could they not do a new head for Daryl?? They have the new 12 inch coming right?? That figure better be in the next regular series.
Eh, that Exclusive Rick is pretty pathetic - at least as Season 3 Rick. It's more like another season 2 version since he's missing the longer slicked-back hair and beard. Nice to finally have a fully civilian version of him, though.
I'm honestly surprised that they haven't released a new sculpt of Daryl - hell, I'm shocked they haven't had a new variation of him in every wave, considering how much they would sell. I'm glad McFarlane is trying to get other characters out there first.
Might get Andrea, because my toy collection is a sausage fest.
I'm glad McFarlane stopped giving the figures proprietary poses - not counting Rick and Daryl, which are just reissues.
Spotted Rick, Carl, Phillip (governor), and Andrea at Walgreens tonight. $12.99 each.
There was 1 Andrea, 2 or 3 Governors, about 3 Ricks, and about 5 Carls.
Just got back from the Walgreens that had Andrea. She's gone. I missed her. But I asked the manager about when they would restock. His response? He started geeking out about action figures and comic books, and told me that they should get a new shipment on Friday and Saturday, and that if he spots Andrea, he'll set her aside for me in the office!!!! While I didn't buy anything, it was definitely a win. He said I should call around 4 or 5pm to check if Andrea has indeed arrived.
My impatience persevered. I checked a bunch more Walgreens today and found 2 Andreas. I picked the one with the better paint job. She is not just a good Andrea figure, and she is not just a cool figure in general either. She is one of the coolest action figures I have ever owned. Everything is perfectly molded, fits together perfect, joints are just perfect, paint is perfect. To top it off, some 3.75" GI Joe scale weapons fit perfectly with her. I scrapped the pitckfork she comes with, and gave her a GI Joe hatchet. I'm also going to give her a GI Joe backpack, to be worn with real straps, rather than a back peg. I'm gonna have to modify the backpack for that.
She also has holes in her feet that fit perfectly on GI Joe display stands.
I keep saying perfect.
Now it's time to wait for Wave 5 Maggie. She and Andrea will be my only Walking Dead figures. Two hot chicks who kick zombie ass.
Weird thing.

When I went to buy Andrea, there were only 2, and they both had an anomalous mole in the exact same spot on the right cheek. It was smaller on one of the figures, so it looked like a coincidental paint mistake. But it got me thinking, maybe Laurie Holden has a mole I never noticed. So I googled a bunch of pictures of her - plenty of close ups of her face from both sides. There are no moles! So it must be a paint mistake.
Then I went and checked Spawn.com
This picture shows the exact same mole:
..but this one doesn't:
At this point, I don't think Laurie has a mole, but it's awfully weird that it keeps coming up in the same spot. I'm about to rewatch season 3 on Netflix, and gonna keep an eye out for Laurie's facial details.
By the way, Spawn.com shows her Beretta as silver. Mine is black.
EDIT: I'm back. Apparently Laurie Holden does have some kind of mole in that spot; but it is nearly flat, and very difficult to see. The way it's scaled on the toy is a significant exaggeration. The mole on Laurie's actual face is about as protuberant as a vein under the skin, which pretty much never gets represented on toys, except to emphasize muscular characters.
For those interested, check Barnes and Noble stores. Stopped in two different ones this weekend. They had a spot set up for Walking Dead stuff. Included lots of Andrea, Penny, Carl, etc.
