MattyCollector Subscriptions Update

Posted on August 20, 2013 at 3:14 pm by Joe Moore under DC Toy News, Ghostbusters Toy News, Masters Of The Universe Toy News

MattyCollector has not given official word on the status of the subs just yet. However, the Subscription pre-order pages have been updated to show more current meters. Good news for Masters of the Universe Classics fans…The Club Eternia meter is at 115%, meaning the line will continue as planned!

Doesn’t look like such good news for DC Universe Classics. The Club Infinite Earths Subscription is listed at only 63%. If this stays the same, then the Club Infinite Earths Subscriptions will be refunded and the line cancelled. The Ecto-1 was at a dismal 38% and chances of that being released are slim to none.

Once official word comes from Mattel, we will relay that info to the fans.

I really was wanting DC club to make it. If they would have just said , Here is Unleashed Doomsday, He is the exclusive, no goal, no teir 1 or 2 stuff. They would have a lot more people signing up. I want every figure they announced. ICE !!, Ra's!!, shirt and jeans Superboy!!! ( I could care less about Damian/Robin, I am glad he is dead) and after years of asking they were doing Classic Doomsday and now everyone wants to bitch about stuff to the point of not getting it.

I knew He man would make it, but had little hope for Ecto :-(
I signed up for all 3 subs.

^ Well, at least you'll still get Ra's. He's coming out this year, in November.

I honestly didn't really think the Ecto-1 would make it either. Really wanted it, though, and pre-ordered it immediately.

    Goodbye to DC Classics!!!!!!

I was looking forward to Damian and Batman Beyond, then they canned the batman beyond and replace it with the garbage new looking one (as well as a garbage looking new 6in line) and then expect everyone who wanted Damien to subscribe to this, to get figures they don't want just to get Damian!!!!! Then on top of that they use those awesome looking Doomsday figures as hostages to get more people to subscribe.
    Ha, goodbye indeed!!!!!

Hell I even was excited for 90's hook arm Aquaman. He was bad ass when he lost his hand and grew a beard, up until he got the spear replaced with the strange water hand.

Forgot Ra's was this year. I am most pissed about loosing Ice after FINALLY getting a Fire.

I will be very sad if this does not make it.

And if it doesn't, then they should immidiately jump the articulated 4" line to being DCUC.

I really hope Mattel at least releases the figures shown somehow throughout the year. I don't care how they do it, as long as they do. They said they would do so for MOTUC, so hopefully they will do the same for DC. As Phantomcrow said, it would be a complete shame to not get Ice after getting a Fire.

I think Motuc and Club Infinite Earths will make it. Not so much for Ecto.

Pretty sure the major e-tailers could put DC CIE over the top if they jump into the pool today. I'm still hopeful.

Well I am glad that He-Man will make it. But I think these poor sales are reflective of Mattel rather than the toys they sell.

How do MOTUC people afford it????

As much as I'm impressed by the CIE lineup, I just don't think I can do it. $26.50 (my estimate, after tax and shipping) is too much for my wallet. Especially with the cost of breathing expected to skyrocket next year. . .

I was really hopeful Unleashed Doomsday would make it but I really dubt that will happen since CIE is just over 50% for tier 1 and today is the last day to sub.
I initially heard that Hook Aquaman, Ice and Superboy would be released even if they dont make it to 100% since they are already tooled, Im not sure if that is true or not, It would be a shame they never came out, specially since Fire just came out and she'd be lonely without an Ice figure by her side.

I still think Mattel could have done more to get people on board.
I agree with PHANTOMCROW if Mattel would have given us Unleashed Doomsday from the get go Im sure the sub would be over 100% by now. Its a damn shame cause I really wanted Unleashed Doomsday, I was even making room in my Superman Collection already jaja.

Well if CIE dies, maybe DC Collectables will step in/step up.

They definitely need to release Ice. SDCC if they have to.

We wont know till around Noon time tomorrow if the Subs went through Mattel sucks about updating these.

I refuse to By DC Collectables or Marvel Legends not going to waste my Money on Stuff I have no interest in. DC Collectables lost me 4 years ago and Marvel Legends figures scare me because I am afraid they will break if I touch them.

Actually They don't need to release any figure and I hope they don't if doesn't go through they have only produced the Display versions the Fans don't want them why spend money making them?

The MOTU Fans are willing to Step up when needed. CIE Fans are to afraid to take a Leap of Faith. Sometimes you need to Trust that you will be caught and not afraid to leap. Trust this is not a Store Line where they may cancel the figures if they change the line. Come on Guys step up we have 4 1/2 hours left. By the Way I pay $32.10 can I really afford it? NO but it didn't stop me and if it goes through the money will be there.

If it was Just Unleashed Doomsday it wouldn't have gone through some people saw Aquaman and Superboy as stopping points and they need to know all 12 figures 5 years before they are made

until they drag it out ANOTHER week...or 2...or 3...I'd like to see Matty put-up or shut-up. I'm just tired of the drama they stir.

  17. CMIII's Avatar CMIII says

    08-19-2013, 07:46 PM

this isn't going to go another week today is it. When they End the Buying period it's over. The Club ends or continues and all the Haters of Mattel for no reason other then they cannot shove figures onto store shelves when 3/4's of the stores never put them out. I don't Blame Mattel for going the Sub route since Retailers seem to fail in getting the Items to the people my local stores failed me not Mattel.

To be fair, that DC Direct N52 Captain Cold looks pretty cool. But... he has 1997 leg articulation. -_-

BTW, I do blame Mattel for the lack of product in retail. For one thing, they wasted two waves on stupid Super Powers and Lantern Redos no one wanted. They clogged up retailer shelves because no one wanted them, and as such, that is why retailers stopped giving a **** about the line.

Yes, there were distribution problems, but honestly, waves 10-16 started to be doing quite well in stores as I saw every one of those waves appear. It was the first 9 that were a bitch to find, especially 1 and 4-9.

The problem is, Mattel has no relationships with retailers. They only provide stores with half of a movie line because instead of putting all of the figures in all cases from the get go, they want to stretch it out over waves when that is NOT how movie toys work. Movie toys have a shelf life of one month before no one gives a crap about them anymore.

It's also time for the Collectors to put up or shut up. If you really want these figures put up the money

Im going to hold off until we know for certain the club did or didn't go through we still have 2 and 45 mins. and the Majority of the Subs go through the last hours

I wait with baited breath for the explanation from TG about how:

    1. The fan base doesnt care about these lines as much as they claim they do

    2. They WILL go forward with core classic figures like Two Bad and Modulok albeit in smaller quantities and higher prices

    3. They will move forward with the MOTUC saying that they were satisfied with the response and even though they didnt hit "the goal" will move forward However, this will cause a future backlash because "hey, if lots of people are going to buy the sub but not enough to hit the goal AND Mattel is still going to go through with it regardless, then I don't need to sweat it and can just cherry pick what I want"

  25. Dr Kain has no avatar! Dr Kain says

    08-20-2013, 08:19 AM

Nah, I expect MOTUC to have hit 118%. Ecto-1 would have had nothing more than 42%. As for DCU, it will either be right under with something like 93% or just made it at 101%. Probably the former.
