After the astounding SDCC 2013 Exclusive Jason Voorhees NES Version (Toyark photo shoot coming soon, I promise) received rave reviews from toy and horror fans, NECA had been hinting that a video game version of their Freddy Krueger figure could appear. Well, NECA finally announced it, and it looks every bit as awesome as you would hope.
Unlike the NES Jason Voorhees, this figure is going to be a general release item. That’s right folks, everyone will have a shot at gettign one of these figures. The Freddy Krueger NES Version Figure is due out in November. It will be limited to just a single production run. So if you miss it, then you miss it.
Read on for some images and a bit of extra info from NECA.
Inspired by the Classic 1989 Video Game
Freddy is the companion piece to the Friday the 13th Classic Video Game Jason, one of the hottest SDCC Exclusives this Summer. Released in 1989 for the super popular 8-Bit home console, the video game Nightmare on Elm Street is so bad… it’s good.
A cult classic if there ever was one, NECA’s Freddy Krueger (1989 Video Game Appearance) will be a fully articulated 7-inch figure done up in that truly horrifying video game deco. This figure comes in a special window box packaging with opening flap to re-create the look and feel of the classic 1989 video game packaging.
