Kotobukiya has posted a consumer alert warning about some counterfeit versions of their Justice League ARTFX+ Statues. Here’s the warning direct from Kotobukiya:
It has come to our attention that a company going by the name “Crazy Toys” is engaging in fraudulent and unlawful activity by manufacturing and distributing counterfeits of our Justice League ARTFX+ statues. Imitations of Superman and Green Lantern have currently begun to surface on the market. In an effort to inform and protect our customers from these inferior products we are providing the following insights as a general guideline of characteristics these bootlegs exhibit:
Product packaging consists of a cardboard box with wrap-around graphics and die-cut viewing window
Poor casting resulting in a lack of detail retention on the statue
Usage of inferior materials prone to warping and distortion
Missing or poorly applied paint
Magnets absent from the bottom of the statue’s feet
Bases missing the Justice League emblem or it remains unpainted
Kotobukiya appreciates your continued support and commitment when it comes to purchasing only officially licensed and manufactured products. If you have reason to believe a retailer is passing these items off as official ARTFX+ releases please contact us at [email protected]
Kotobukiya Warns Of Fake Versions Of Their Products
I have all 5 from Kotobukiya and looking at the images closely these counterfits look so dull. The Hair and Logo of Superman looks like it was plaster and not sculpture. I highlighted the detail of mine statues in a video.

Dont own any of these statures but I cant tell diffence by looking at hair but smaller detail knock off of lantern is looking down and left real lantern has some shine to his costume and is looking straight
Ahead looking up not down, superman real statue has red around his neck his head is slightly centerd with his while knock off of superman is lightly tilted to lower left and has no red around his I dont own any genuine real staturws here but my first statement knock off is in card board box realdeal is plastic see through case
To my eyes (as dysfunctional as they are) the differences between the Superman statues are minimal. Green Lantern's pose was clearly altered (which may be due to the warping mentioned by Koto?) and has a few other visible differences I can spot, but just going by these pics I don't get a sense of the quality being that much worse.
Depending on the prices I could definitely see people choosing to go with the fakes rather than being duped into it.
Weird choices to KO. I would think the whole idea behind KOs is a quick money grab, and by that token they would want to pick cheap, easily reproduced products that consumers wouldn't think twice about when they bought it (for the novelty and/or the price).
I'm curious to see how much the bootleggers are charging for these knock-offs, because I have to assume that Koto collectors are going to be very particular about their purchases and I don't see them getting easily fooled.
