SDCC Masters of the Universe Mini He-Man and Skeletor Gallery

Posted on July 31, 2013 at 7:32 pm by Tony_Bacala under Masters Of The Universe Toy News, Random Photo Shoot

SDCC 2013 clean up continues! Another exclusive from Mattel, we have a gallery of the Masters of the Universe Mini set, featuring He-Man and Skeletor. The set came packaged with a Castle Greyskull diorama to boot. The figures are a comedic interpretation of He-Man and Skeletor based on the smartphone game The Most Powerful Game in the Universe. I’m a sucker for goofy versions of 80’s toys (see: TF capformers and nikebots), so these were right up my alley. The overall build quality is good, paint is well done. Great set to slip in the shelves and fill in those gaps. Check out over 40 images including close ups of the little guys after the break!

RE: Mini Figs - yeah they were well done, keeping those guys for sure. Don't have room for the boxskull tho, sucks.

I want this so bad. Can't wait 'til it shows up on the website. Unlike Hasbro they seem to always have more than enough for everyone.

So, the most posable Dex figure is the 3.75" scale one? DC's small scale offerings are looking better and better.

Yeah it's a pretty solid set. I'm not super into Green Lantern myself but the Sinestro is pure win.

Yeah I was surprised at that too. Waist swivel, head swivel, and all 4 legs.

Love the mini masters wish they were retail, those small figures from dc look horrible, now I knwo why they always complain when people want 3 inch figures, they don't do them well.

Most 3.75" figures of any brand look terrible in close up, high-res, brightly lit photos, because they're revealing a level of detail and scrutiny that the figures really aren't designed for.

In-hand, they tend to look MUCH better. Unless you're in the habit of shining a bright LED flashlight on them while looking at them six inches or less from your face.

Agreed. Compared with other 3.75 figs, they are same level of detail, clarity, molding. Only thing that's off with all these DCC figures is that they run a bit small compared to MU or Modern Joe, don't fit well. But on their own, this is a well done set, Black Hand being the weakest. IMO, that is. Jesterman may just think these suck regardless of all that, which is his opinion and just as valid.

Haha. Actually, was trying to stand him to show leg articulation and he kept falling over. Said "screw it" and just snapped a pic of him after he fell.
