Leaked Images Of Robocop 2014 Toys

Posted on July 30, 2013 at 8:03 am by Joe Moore under Robocop Toy News

Spanish online store Kanpekisetto has posted, what I believe, is the very first images of the toys and merchandise for the upcoming Robocop 2014 reboot. They are listed as being produced by Jada Toys. Looks like the main line will be a 4″ action figure line. It includes three different version of Robocop, with version 1.0 resembling the classic Robocop look. Included are the following:

• Robocop 12″ Action Figure
• Robocop 1.0, Robocop 2.0, Robocop 3.0 4″ Action Figures
• Robocop 3.0 6″ Action Figure
• Robocop Role Play Helmet
• Robocop Role Play Chest Plate
• Robocop 3.0 – Radio Controlled Motorcycle
• Robocop 3.0 4″ Action Figure Motorcycle

Read on to see all of the photos.

Just not a fan of the new look. It's got way to many Iron Man elements with just a touch of Dredd mixed in.

Never heard of Jada Toys. Wonder what the articulation is like on the 6 and 3.75 inch figs. The 3.75 fig on the left looks closer to what an updated Robocop should look like.

He looks like he just wearing some type of "five years in the future" body armor, Robo Cop should be big not form fitting.

He could barely move in the old armor. The way he moved onscreen seemed real stiff due to the limitations of the armor. Hell even the NECA toy seems to duplicate it pretty well.

The form fitting one will allow better action scenes rather than Robocop just standing straight up and walking around.

Pass... I really don't like the look of the new design... like what is the deal with having one human hand? He just looks like a guy in a rubber suit. The entire point of Robo is that he is a walking tank.

I'll get the three 4" Robocops just to have them on my movie SHIELD shelf, but I'm really uncertain about it as "Robocop."

A new IP inspired by the original, then sure. As Robocop himself it's just kind of off.
Really hate that bare right hand too. Seems so out of place with the rest. Also would have preferred they made a version with a recessed mouth guard/plate. I hope they make a 4th figure in the 4" line with those changed(preferably for each, call it "unused concepts" or something).

It's not Robocop, but as a design in itself I'm intrigued. It's got a very sleek element going for it. Just sleek isn't the word I'd use for Robocop. That bare hand is also really bugging me. It makes no sense to keep one bare like that.

I kinda like the new suit alongside the old one, but I just can't get over his human hand; It screams "Don't shoot at my armored body parts, aim for my unarmored shooting hand instead.".

I guess whoever made him at OCP, couldn't splurge for an armored glove for his right hand or maybe its a plot point ,wherein he gets that hand blown off, then upgraded.

Jada Toys are the ones that made those cool Halo 4 diecast vehicles. Those Warthogs are some sweet toys.

Its what you say but at least in that first suit he looked realist moved liked cyborg this new one all we seen is photos of him we havnt seen in action of any teasers, traliers yet I still hold my judgment until I see him in film but I do agree human hand has to go looks out of place weird looking little bit

I agree with you guys on the human hand. I didn't even notice it until I read the last few posts. Looks ridiculous. Hopefully the movie gives a satisfying explanation for it.

Well, the reason he has a human hand is because (in the movie) it's illegal for a robot to pull the trigger of a gun to kill a person. So by having him keep his human hand, it acts as a sort of legal loophole. and before anyone asks about ED-209, remember that (in the original, at least) he was operated with a control panel that was used by humans.

I can get behind those 3.75'ers, especially if they have decent articulation. If anything, they'll make decent custom fodder.

That's just it. Robocop isn't supposed to be acrobatic, dodging, and fast. He's supposed to be cumbersome, lumbering, and a badass even though he's slow. It adds to his oomph. Criminals hear those steps, that iconic walking nose, and sure they may laugh thinking they can run away or blast the hell out of him, but robocop is made by Detroit engineering. He'll survive anything like die-cast. He comes out on top because he's just built that well and sturdy like a rock.

This new one, while I love the idea of the acrobatic precision that the modern tech angle presents, just removes too much of what made the previous iconic. This one is more like the 6 billion dollar man with a bubblegum crisis hard suit, which I'm fine with as a next gen robocop if it didn't mean erasing the steps that led to it by doing this as a "Reboot."

I'd much prefer it if they approached it as they retired the old model because of new lighter weight technologies and added on to the legend itself.

Don't get me wrong. I absolutely LOVE the idea of precision acrobatics and action that sleeker armor/tech designs present. It's just that those ideas aren't Robocop. This is more like a one man RoboSWAT.

They could still put a glove on it, or an armored glove. It just looks off as is for all the reasons suggested.

Also that control panel part, means the loophole is still present with his human brain making the conscious choice to shoot too then. So it makes an immediate potential movie plot hole/goof.

I'll still see the film, but between the hand and that little tidbit, I'm not as enthused as I was before about it being decent. At least before I could separate it by thinking of it as a mislabeled IP. Now, not so much. Now it's seeming more and more like a brainless action flick with high-octane visuals, and Robocop has always been anything but.

Well if the 4"ers are good I'll pick up a couple (especially the classic looking one on the left) but that normal human hand will definitely be changed.

I heard from SDCC that the human hand is to give proper hanshakes, it shows to be more human and helps people believe that he's human, as in the movie people hate robots

I don't understand why a reboot was needed here, you are exactly right - this could have been way more awesome by continuing the original story...

That being said, I am all over these 3.75" figs, and I'm hoping for a "classic" version, perhaps in a later wave!!!

We don't need a reboot but its all about money trying to cash in on nostalgia. I agree it looks very iron man/judge dredd/new tronish but i am still digging it. Jada Toys is known for making die cast cars. Surprised that NECA was not chosen. I would have been very excited had it been mcfarlane, mezco or NECA. But who knows no one had heard of bridge direct but they put out some decent hobbit stuff which i never bought and the rest of their stuff was just awful in terms of QC/paint app. I dig a hot toys version though.

I'll be getting at least one of these. I kinda dig the way the new design looks in the classic colors, so whether it's 3.75" or 6", that's the one I'll get.

i like the new design just that damn human hand throws it off. its like a boob enlargement but the doc only did the left one and let his 13 year old nephew do the right.

that said i want three of each

One person already stated that he has the human hand because only humnas are authorized to kill. I don't know if this is true but at the SDCC panel Joes Padilla, the director, said that he has the right human hand to shake people's hands because that is one of the most direct ways in our society to create a human connection and the thought is that when he shakes people's hand, when they receive that known tactile sensation, it puts them at ease and makes them less scared of this machine, this other. Which is pretty interesting at least as a concept. As for the toys, I may buy them, but I'll be more tempted if they make the actual soldier drones and of course a scale accurate ED 209.

I don't know about the new Robocop movie, but I'm definitely making a custom Cyclops figure off of that head. If Cyke wasn't such a damn after thought in the X-men movie franchise, I'd say this design would've be an ideal movie universe look for him.
