Mattel Releases Mattypalooza Slides

Posted on July 23, 2013 at 9:03 am by Joe Moore under DC Toy News, Ghostbusters Toy News, Masters Of The Universe Toy News, San Diego Comic Con

Mattel has officially released the slides for their Mattypalooza Event, which was covered live here at Toyark. Read on to get a clearer look at the slides themselves.

On Friday, fans packed into Room 25ABC to discover what’s in their future from MattyCollector.com and here are the highlights. You can also click here to see the presentation slides right from the show.

  • Ghostbusters™ Ecto-1 Pre-Order: first time in scale to 6” figures! We’ve also got Peter Venkman & Ray Stantz with new torsos so they actually fit in the Ecto-1. Click here for details and to pre-order.
  • 2014 Club Eternia® Subscription: The Unnamed One™ with the Horde Empire map was revealed as the 2014 exclusives and we announced the first three figures. Click here for 2014 Club Eternia®, available only through 8/19.
  • 2014 Club Infinite Earths Subscription: One word…Doomsday! In 6” scale! Wearing his prison outfit! And that’s just Level 1! And if subscription orders reach Level 2, you get a bigger, badder “Unleashed” Doomsday!  The first three club figures were also announced and we know we’re using a lot of exclamation points, but dangit, it’s Doomsday! Click here for 2014 Club Infinite Earths, available only through 8/19.
  • Fan’s Choice Vote: Neither the Four Horsemen nor the Mattel design team could decide between Huntara and Lord Masque to become a 2014 monthly MOTUC figure so we left it to the fans at Mattypalooza to decide. And the winner is… Huntara!
  • POW Entertainment Partnership: We proudly announced our new partnership with Stan Lee’s POW Entertainment. More news to come, but for now we revealed a special Standor™ action figure – yes, Mr. Lee himself will be immortalized MOTU-style! Standor™ won’t be part of any subscription and you can get it first at Stan Lee’s Comicazi event in Los Angeles, November 1-3, 2013, then here on MattyCollector.com.
  • Charity Auction for Hover Boards Signed by Michael J. Fox: Head over to hoverboardauction.com right now to bid on an extremely limited number of Mattel® Hover Boards personally signed by Michael J. Fox! All proceeds benefit the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
  • Grayskulling Contest Winner:  An awesome entry by Adam Harper was declared the winner. Adam clearly took our challenge to channel his inner He-Man® to heart – click here to see his photo. Congratulations, Adam (or shall we call you Prince Adam)!

Ras'al Ghul coming this year means I don't have to get a sub next year, YES!!!!!!

Anyway, I'm not too thrilled with next year's line up. Ice is the only one I care about. As for Doomsday, I'd only want Tier 2 version, not Tier 1.

Dont Ruin it for the rest of us and pay your dues! We need Tier 2!!

Hopefully with no Watchmen set, more people would be willing to sub for this Tier 2 Beauty.

yay Dr. Kain will stop harping on Ra's Al Ghul (probably will look like crap anyway). Batzaro, Aquaman, Con El really?

Con-El is in my top 5 wants, which is spearheaded by Batwoman. I want Batwoman.

    Looks awesome to me:

Anyway, sorry, but I am not willing to suffer another year of Digital River, especially when only half of the figures they showed I want (Ice Doomsday T2). If they showed us the first 5 figures again, and the next two were something I must have, then I might, but no, just no. I'll take my chances with BBTS or my local comic shop.

BTW, so glad I dropped MOTUC. Horde Troopers are FIlmation but Plundar is regular? Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

Well Dr. Cain you wont be getting Doomsday (go for Amazon)

Batzarro is the only one I dont understand. The Aquaman, I can understand somewhat. Its a major design for him. but the Batzarro to me reminds me of Batman Legacy line. He should be in Retail next to Planet X Batman. I can think of many characters who could fit that spot better.

I might get a second subscription just to help the brand, show some brand loyalty, and make some money off of Dr Cain and others

    Calling it now:

Matty QC will mix up the Two Bad parts so that purples is with blue and vice versa

And Modulok will be missing pieces

However, I may have to pick up the Evil Rabbit for my Easter Bunny diorama

Ice is exactly what I wanted 90's JL, Now I want a 90's Guy Gardner in his blue jacket with Sinestro ring and a Bloodwynd figure, so I can have them all getting their butts kicked buy Doomsday. I would even be ok with a Max Lord figure and a Fire that is transparent Green. And even not being an Ocean Master fan I gotta say he looks good, and That 90's armless Aquaman is one of my favorite eras, when he stopped being a joke and was kicking ass, but they ruined that and went to that blue swirly outfit that already has a figure.

Also where is my Granny Goodness?????

Why are there no good pictures of Ras' face on this site? You got his sword, his pants, but not his upper body.

I am thinking that both Doomsday looks like a Kilowag BAF body for a base, anyone else think this is correct??? That is the size I wanted him to be but no pics of him next to anyone to compare.

All of the MOTUC reveals are wonderful (as they are every year). Still the best action figure line going. The induction a characters like Plundor and Nepthu solidifies and confirms it's wealth of awesomeness.

I'd love to start a DCUC collection, but with only 5 figs right now, that's an uphill battle I don't want to fight.

The only gripe I have with the Tier 2 Doomsday is that he's missing a right knee spike, but all and all he looks awesome.

Don't stay on the fence just go for it... We need this Doomsday I have the 6 inch and if I get the Oversized the 6 inch gets demoted.

Almost forgot to those of you who do not sign up (Dr Kain) do not complain about the figures that come out you chose not to join then you have nothing to complain about.
