My god, everytime you guys post something NECA related (lets hope it's only that news, but it is most likely other news too) it's horribly innaccurate. That's Hicks not Hudson. Shaw an Fifield are not canceled as of yet, and the albino pred is from the batman fan film Dead End not the fan film AVP Dead end. Get your news and facts straight before posting it to the front page.

You are correct about this being Hicks, but incorrect about everything else.

No you are incorrect, NECA spent three days on their twitter explaining shaw and fifield are not cancelled, just on hold, sales of series three will determine whether they are able to be tooled, if enough profits are made then, shaw fifield and possibly vickers will be in fact made, so therefore not cancelled. And i sat through both fan films and albino is from Batman: Dead End.

I am providing direct quotes, and direct links to said quotes, officially released by NECA which exist on their sites. I am reporting on exactly what they said. Shaw and Fifield were scheduled for release at some point, they are, now, no longer scheduled for release. They have not been made. That is the very definition of canceling something.

If they announce that they are going to release those figures, I will be more than happy to report on it.

Guys, sorry to interrupt, but by any chance do you have a link to this AVP dead end movie? I only knew the Batman one and would love to see the other one.

The Albino Predator is in fact from Sandy Collora's short film Batman: Dead End.

I worked in a comic shop when it was released and the owner sold bootlegs of it. He pretended it was the greatest thing ever. Had the damn thing constantly playing in the store to the point I had memorized every line and sound effect.

That's all well and good. My news report, and not even this one, was based explicitly on what NECA's report said, and still says. I repeat the quote that is on their website:

It honestly doesn't matter to me which fan film it is from. I report on what those companies say and release. NECA said, and still says, AVP: Dead End. If and when they say Batman: Dead End, then my next report will gladly reflect that.

For now, I refer to this:

Thanks, And that really sucks to hear he was bootlegging it.

I believe the part of the article you keep holding to is a Typo it happens all the time, and i apologize that I'm being so stubborn, but even big companies make mistakes. I'm just trying to point out that these news posts are wrong.

The best way to do so is to simply say: I think you meant "X" not "Y". Coming at me (or really anyone) with unprovoked hostility is only going to have it returned in kind. Though don't mistake my posts here for hostility, simply clarification on why things were reported the way they were.

Anyway, it's late, and I'm out for the night.

So... back on topic. Is anyone else disappointed that we're getting a 2nd Hicks in this 2pack rather than another Colonial Marine? I'm starting to wonder if Hicks and Hudson are ALL we'll get from that squad.

And of course no Ripley, Newt, or Bishop either.

  15. salsa4datass's Avatar salsa4datass says

i'm not disappointed as this is the usual routine for neca. plus these come with the helmets and I think the single figures don't. plus the battle damaged alien is really what I want from the two packs...
though I do want a ripley and newt so maybe it'll depend on sales like everything else...

I thought Ripley was off the table due to Sigourney not approving likeness rights for the character? Which still baffles me because Mattel was able to do Dana in their Ghostbusters line. I don't understand why Sigourney would be selective in approving one over the other, especially when NECA would probably do a much more accurate depiction of her facial likeness.

    I'm dying for a Ripley/Newt 2-pack, or a deluxe Ripley with Powerloader.

  17. Dark Hayabusa's Avatar Dark Hayabusa says

This came up before. From what I recall, Sigourney Weaver doesn't sign her likeness rights off on any toy or figure. The closest she came was allowing the box art, on a Ripley in power loader model kit, to look like her. And that was years ago.
The Zool figure, you may notice doesn't much look like her and technically isn't her, because her character was Dana Barrat, so Mattel were ok legally.

I doubt there will ever be a Newt figure, what with Neca being allergic to female characters. So I don't have much hope for a Ripley either. But I do think the 2-pack should have a generic marine as having Hicks in there screams of, "But he has a new hat!" to me

It is a shame about those, especially the Ripley. I plan on getting Series 1 when I spot them, as these are great looking and the price is just right.
