Masters of the Universe Classics Mini He-Man and Skeletor Figures

Posted on May 3, 2013 at 3:13 pm by Joe Moore under Masters Of The Universe Toy News, San Diego Comic Con

Mattel has updated with today’s San Diego Comic-Con reveals. Masters of the Universe fans get a second set with the reveal of a Masters of the Universe Classics Mini He-Man and Skeletor Figures. The figures are based on the He-Man: The Most Powerful Game In The Universe mobile video game.

Great things come in small packages! At long last, the fan demanded mini versions of He-Man® and Skeletor®… in a foldout mini Castle Grayskull® diorama package! Each figure has six points of articulation at the arms, legs, waist and neck, and comes with snap-on accessories such as a power sword, shield and havoc staff. He-Man® features a shield with traditional j-hook, allowing it to be held out in front instead of clipped onto his arm!

This product will be available for pre-order at MattyCollector.com on June 4, 2013, to be picked up at San Diego Comic-Con (details to come). It will also be available for purchase at the show, then at MattyCollector.com on August 5, 2013.

I am waiting for the DC Superman reveal so I cannot get it... Only way I'll go for a DC figure is if it's General Zod

What is the DC reveal? Hopefully it is someone important like Granny Goodness, Doomsday, etc and not some lame ass villain like Zod.

Kain seriously.. Granny Goodness is about as needed as paper at a Paper mill and while I agree Doomsday would be nice I doubt it. If I was to bet it'll be either Superman changing from suite to costume or General Zod mostly because the Superman Movie will be out and the Villain is General Zod

I've never had much trouble with Mattel's line. I guess that's cause I compare it to Hasbro's.

If there's any company that's worse than Hasblo it has to be Mattel imo. The countless reuses of the same body, sh#tty accessories, bland paint job with little or no shading, and on and on. But it's what we're stuck with so... God I miss Toybiz.

I'd buy that Cylon Raider if it were regular retail. But I don't collect Hot Wheels so I'm not paying scalper prices for it.

These companies lose out on millions of sales by making everything exclusive or limited edition. Oh well, they don't need my money so moving on.

Agreed. While I'm no longer a "Hot Wheels Collector" per se, I still enjoy picking up the nostalgia-driven vehicles they've put out like the A-Team van, the BTTF Time Machine and the Flintstone-mobile (never could find KITT at retail, though). But in no way am I going to brave the secondary market for this.

I just don't like BG enough to make it worth the effort.

You can always do the online pre-order and pick them up. I heard the line wasn't too bad last year. In 2010, it was horrible.

Well I'm sure they do something to the Cylon Raider and Viper to so they can jack up the price but everything they've done for SDCC has made it to mass retail in a simpler version to meet the $1 price tag of a regular hot wheel. I assume this will be no different.

I missed out on a lot of those but the ones I do find I find in bunches like the Mystery Machine and Ecto-1.

I agree I won't look for these on the secondary market but I might ask a friend to hook me up.

So wait, they want people to preorder an item they won't even show them?

How about offer a spoiler warning with a link to click on instead?

Oh wait, that would make sense, and Mattel does not deal in sense.

The look itself is pretty cool.

HOWEVER, why the **** is this an exclusive SDCC figure? SDCC figures are supposed to be ones we cannot get in stores because they are obscure. Being that Man of Steel comes out, there is no reason why it should not have been an oversized Doomsday. Not to mention a figure people HAVE BEEN DEMANDING FOR A FEW YEARS NOW!!! But instead, they waste an exclusive slot on a retail type figure just so they can charge double the price for it.

this guy is disapointing. the cowl is a joke, lack of accessories(DCUC SDCC Figures are usually loaded). This is an unlimited figure that couldnt make retail. lame.

as much as I disagree with Dr. Kain in this Case I agree. I do love Shazam! and everything Captain Marvel Family. They really should have gone the Superman Family Route. Doomsday does need to be an Oversized at some point if Mattel would just stop dragging their feet ad do it 90% of Club members would be happy. I know you love Mad Hatter and Ras Al Ghul. I want General Zod and Kryptonite Man. For Shazam why not do Isis, Osiris, IBAC, or Sivana.

You wouldn't get that nice a box at retail. . .

But yeah, this is a disappointing year for Mattel's SDCC offerings. I'm not interested in anything they've shown yet. Come on Hasbro!

I would believe it if that was how Mattel would explain it. "Yeah, the figure is not so special, but just look at the cardboard box we're putting it in!"

IMO, his hood should look more like Kobra's or even Desaad's. For how this thing sits, it must be removable.
