New DC Unlimited Batman and Darkseid
I actually really liked the Batman Vampire Graphic Novel when it came out in the 90s, so I may get that one. Darkseid (whom I love BTW) not so much.
Does anyone know (and I ask because I do not) are DC Direct Unlimited the same concept as Matty Exclusives, as in these confuse me on availability and if you need to join a club or something?
That Darkseid don't look right... and I' not just talking 'bout the costume.
Why the hell is there a batman in the DC Unlimited wave??????? They have a Batman Unlimited line for just Batman and they put him in the DC wave. I hope this is just a mislabel and Vampire Bats is for the Batman line. That is the same mentality as making a Wolverine line and an X-men line and putting a Wolverine in every wave of both.
I can't believe that Vampire Batman, he looks awesome!
Darkseid really doesn't bug me all that much, as I'm sure the figure will look a lot better in hand....
I might end up snagging that Aquaman to have one of him in a normal costume (I only have that weird blue outfit)

They're basically DCUC continued with even softer plastic, no C&C pieces, and dropped down to three figures per wave (in what I believe as an attempted to skirt around the POS problems.)
Though... mass retail is the theory. They're probably going to be so hard to find that matty collector exclusives would be preferable.
No. Both "Unlimited" lines are mass retails.

Vampire Batman? What a pleasant surprise!
I'm gonna need to get a Vampire Batman for my collection.
What the hell happened to Darkseid. Vampy Bats looks cool but it looks like it has double jointed elbows yet no double jointed knees. What?
Darkseid got a big ol' heed.
I think a better comic idea for Batman would be that he got bitten by a werewolf instead of a vampire because then we could have a whole story arch about how his curse doesn't match his theme. A deeply moving story of the angst-y brooding about buying a new wardrobe and convincing everyone (again) that saying things like Wolfmobile or Wolfarangs is cool.
yeah, that darkseid looks awful. the huge dc direct version looked way better.
someone at mattel needs to pay attention to proportion. hard.
that is a "sexy" Darkseid (in a bad way). What happen to those vampire batman hips articulation ?, awesome fig btw.
Red Rain Batman does nothing for me, honestly. Darkseid has been widely panned so I won't pile on. DCUU N52 Aquaman has a cool belt. So there's that.
Yet another pointless Batman figure...how am I a NOT surprised...
Consistency Mattel, consistency!
Consistency Mattel, consistency!
I can only presume this is the same thinking for Red Rain Bats.

As for the articulation, the lack of double jointed knees actually doesn't bother me. Really, with Mattel, anything above their standard five swivel joints is a win in my book.

So Matty really has no concept of what they're talking about, somewhere along the line.

When I said "That's the theory," I mean that they're probably going to be so poorly carried that sightings will be rare. I never found the Allstar wave at all. Never found the Batman Unlimited wave, either.

If we are going to get a Batman, which..we will, I would rather see it being a unique version from the comic/cartoon/movie lore as opposed to a random action gimmick one from their evergreen line. With pointless use of plastic like the latter it is no WONDER kids these days would rather get an iPad or game system! Cheap toys are cheap toys.
