Hey everyone, I apologize for posting this if someone already has but I was browsing around and found this pic of the 1st wave of the Iron Man 3 marvel legends figures on the entertainmentearth.com site.

    http://www.entertainmentearth.com/pr...A#.UP9n7ujZUmC

UPDATE: Here's some Detail shots of the figures from marvelousnews.com

    My take:
    - Horned IM: Definite buy as I missed out on the 2-pack version (no tony stark head though, why?)

    - Iron Patriot: Why?...why hasbro did you have to use the "restricted hips" extremis IM figure as base body here...ugh...still buying him though (Iron Mongers parts ftw!)

    - Bleeding Edge IM: Oh yeah, definite buy. Brand new sculpt with some solid articulation, looks good to me.

    Your thoughts my fellow Arkers?

OK, thank you soo much for posting this, and having a civil discussion. My wallet just fainted as it knows it will be buying this. I'm a completist when it comes to 6'' IM figures, so this is right up my alley. I knew Monger was 2 big to complete with 3 figures. As you notice with these 3 we get the main body and legs. The legs being 1/figure suggests the arms will be 1/figure, and that still leaves the head and possibly weapons/base/blast effects. which means we'll be getting another 3 for sure if not 4!!! FUCK YESS!! Hasbro does me right every now and again.

Now enough of my hyper-enjoyment rant, My take is the pointy mask fills the void of collectors paying $60-80 for the only other ML pointy mask figure. The 2pack figure is also around $30-40 so this saves ppl money, I don't know if it's the same buck or not, but both masks look different. Bleeding edge for the win!, looks great,... Iron Patriot should of been the variant to the regular extremis iron man, but they decided to make stealth instead. Stealth sold well in stores, regular version peg warms, so why not take a buck that sells and repaint it change the baf piece and charge the same price, makes sense to me, basically use the mold up. Plus lots of customizers made them on ebay and sold well. thus a market was born. I am curious to see what the other 3 or more will be.

My absolute wants would be a dressed down Tony with removable armour pieces, a peper potts, Obadiah Stane would make sense for Iron Monger. Pepper Potts would be amazing but will never happen. Agent Coulson, Black Widow, Agent Maria Hill, Unmasked WarMachine. But honestly , I'm just guessing and dreaming, time will tell.

The 1st ML horned Iron Man was by Toy biz. This one uses the newer Hasbro buck used on the 2nd series of TRU 2 packs, which is much more slender than the Toy Biz version. Instead of a swappable faceplate, it had the whole heads being swappable.

I get the feeling that a new Silver Centurion Iron Man using this buck is on the way for wave 2. After all, Tony was in that suit during Iron Mongers last battle in the comics, and Silver Centurion is long overdue for a redo. The Toy Biz version is bulky. Comic Mandarin and modular armor need redoes too!!

I don't buy 6" figures but I might make and exception for that Iron Patriot. Not the best looking figure but I just like that suit.

Very excited about Bleeding cool IM, Iron Patriot is a must, Horned (come on, I know Hasbro is infamous for reusing figures, but it looks exactly like the two pack figure. All they did was swap a horned helmet for the tony head.) boo.

Figures Hasbro would re-release that classic Iron-Man figure after it took me so long to track one down for a decent price on ebay. Oh well.

At least the first one came with the Tony Stark head and extra hands.

Bleeding Edge IM is so bought. It'd be nice if they throw in Rescue for wave 2.

I know the first horned figures was by Toybiz as I said it saves collectors paying $80 for the only other version made. And the 2 swappable heads are both different then what came with the 2 pack version from what I can tell looking at mine. The original 2pack came with A masked head and a Tony Stark head... I own them all so I know. ... I could see silver centurion being made, I really do like the Toybiz version but a redo could be nice, was never a fan of the mandarin mold, I like the blast effects and facesculpt, but the rubber wardrobe is a bitch to pose with. I liked the modular armour, but their high prices makes it hard for most ppl to pull the trigger on him, I got the warmachine variant coming in the mail moc and gonna keep him moc due to the pain it is to keep them posed same with mandarin.

I was lucky enough to find the Iron Man 2 pack a few years back at a local Con, and I really loved the figure until I stood it next to other Marvel Legends figures. It is really short and slender when compared to other figures, especially the older ToyBiz ones. Oh well, Eye of the Beholder I guess.

in glad to see these. im really liking the bleeding edge armor, and the horned mask armor. im not to keen on the iron patriot as its just a repaint. i would like to see some bulk on the extremis armor. it just looks too thin. im excited to see these instead of SH figurarts milking the franchise.

After the lackluster MU offerings these actually are getting me excited about Marvel Action figures again!

I'm assuming the rest of Iron Monger will be with wave 2?

  18. warmachine6's Avatar warmachine6 says

    01-23-2013, 05:47 AM

hmmm i think i might get iron monger separate unless they have variants although there is a chance but compared to the other waves i doubt we'll see them also depends on the other 3 figures so maybe. I wouldn't call this a movie wave, more like an ironman wave.

Since I'm not an Iron man fan and I have the Wave 1 2012 ML version, this doesn't excite me much at all. The Iron Patriot just being a repaint and I don't really care for the other two armours.

That said, finally a BAF to get excited about again.

I hope wave 2 has the classic Modular armor from the 90s cartoon. The old toybiz one sucks and is too expensive.

Looking forward to picking these up--it will be the first time since IM2 that I've purchased toys at retail.

Not that keeping up with the IM Hot Toys stuff hasn't done a fine job of draining my wallet in the meantime.

These look pretty good. I may actually buy these, and then the three wave two figures. I just hope Hasbro has a better chance at getting all six out there than Mattel did last year... I like that, with this first wave, you'll at least have something that you can...sort of display. You'll at least be able to stand your WIP.

That said, I'm not a huge fan of Horny Man there, but the alternate helmet design is nice (that said...I may just buy the leg from someone). I was expecting Iron Patriot to be a repaint of that figure, so no surprise there. It does look good in those colors, just...not in that pose (as-is, it's "Heey Girlfriend Iron Patriot). Heroic Age Iron Man is easily the best of the three.

I'm curious to see what's coming in the second wave. With two of the six figures already used for different Iron Man armors, I hope that at least two of the next three figures are non-Iron Man characters. I'd certainly be up for a Rescue figure, and I'm sure a Mandarin figure wouldn't at all be a reach for this line.

Hmm...I just bought an Extremis for an Iron Patriot custom and that two pack Iron Man so I could repaint the yellow parts gold to match the recent Iron Man figures...eh...if anything, it's less customizing for me. I've never bought an entire wave all at once before...looks like I don't have a choice this time, I have to get these.

I'm a bit confused though...clearly, there are three figures missing based on the BAF parts, but the preorder only lists multiples of the figures in the pic...wonder what's going on there.

if you take the terrax wave for example we might get extras so in total we might get 6 for baf and maybe one or 2 more like the thor figure
