For those of you who were collecting Jazwares Mortal Kombat figures, we bring you some unfortunate news. Entertainment Earth has sent out e-mails stating that Jazwares Mortal Kombat 4″ Jax has been cancelled:
“Thank you for ordering from Entertainment Earth. We have been notified by the manufacturer that we will not be receiving any additional shipments of Mortal Kombat 9 4-Inch Jax Action Figure, (Item JZ13241), because they have discontinued production of this item at this point in time. The item has been removed from your order.
If this item is again made available, we will contact you for a possible re-order. We apologize for the inconvenience, as we certainly would have preferred to fill your order. Your order information appears below. “
Thanks to Toyark boards member Th0r4z1n3 for the heads up.
Just got an email from Entertainment Earth saying that my preorder for 4" Haz has been cancled.

Maybe NECA will pick them up and give us some 4" figures....hopefully.
BBTS never had a pre-order for Jax, only Johnny Cage, Lui Kang and Nightwolf (which have all arrived in the last week or so).
The Goro set has arrived at TRU and the Shao Kahn figure is just being released. Line seems to be doing okay as far as I can see. Perhaps Entertainment Earth just made a mistake?
When I say Entertainment Earth made a mistake, I mean that perhaps it never existed in the first place?
Dammit. This better not mean DEATH OF TEH LINE
Don't get me wrong, I'm hoping it's not the end of the line either.
Entertainment Earth put their preorders up for the last 4 figures at the same time, long before BBTS even had them listed, presumably as the second wave of figures. That's the only reason I PO'd with them, I much prefer to deal with Big Bad personally. EE has been ahead of the so called curve with this line though, but take from it what you will...it's all just speculation at this point anyway.
Sorry, but I would not feel bad if the line ended. Jazware's figures look like they were painted by 5 year olds. Their plastic feels cheap, the joints break just by looking at them wrong, and their faces are horribly sculpted. I cannot believe they expected people to pay $50 for that Ninja 4 pack.
Wow... Jazzwares killed the black guy. Jeez.
I'm black, I can make the joke.
Here's the thing: this line is the golden example of a toy company that should take a risk and develop these figures with adult themes that the video game itself is based on. Magnets in limbs so they can be "ripped off", same with legs and heads. Also burning and scarred "battle damaged" versions. I know you wouldnt get an inch of retail space on the shelves but in the modern age of cutting out the distributor and just marketing online direct to customer I cant fathom why the fans of the game wouldnt get behind a mature themed toy line. I can hear the doubters already and yes I realize getting the rights to the Mortal Kombat license is expensive as is having them b super articulated (it is based on a fighting game) as well as regular and "battle damaged" versions and thats not even cost pricing the magnets or more detailed accessories that should be included in a figure line such as this.
But I'm getting away from my main point. Will we ever see an action figure line that reflects adult themed brutality. Would a toy company be able to profit or would it even be worth their time? Honestly if you dont want to go more hardcore with "Mortal Kombat" of all propeties, then dont bother making toys at all.

Hey enigma2k2, not only have I read the reviews, I purchased most of the line in order to customize a better product than what was delivered. And does it seem to you like Jazwares is going to release a better product if they're cancelling the Jax figures. Now the line may still continue, in fact I heard on the web at some point that some bigshot up and comer from the Hasbro marvel universe was hired at Jazwares to step up their product quality and openly compete with Hasbro, but you are missing the point.

In my opinion Jazwares scooped up the rights to a toy line from this property and released some a C+ to B- toys. But when you stop and think of the creative ceiling a Mortal Kombat action figure line could have the skies the limit. But honestly I think we are seeing less and less action figure risk takers. I already believe I haved lived in the golden age of action figure articulation and now, thanx again to price cutting, we will see less and less poseabilty until toys resemble some toybiz 90's x-men piece of crap with 5 points of articulation. If you dont believe me go look and see what they are releasing for "Superman: Man of Steel". Cant even get ankle articulation and the guy flys!!!
My question remains the same. "When a toy company has a property like Mortal Kombat, will they ever gear the line for adults only or has the choice been made that they only want toy aisle space and the kid dollar."
also i thought ur joke was funny. for real
I'm just glad I got some Johnny Cage figures, 6" and 4" regardless of how meh they are. I just wished they had his alternate costume as figures too.
