I want to cave immediately but I have to hold off for a while. I dug this variant even more once I saw more pics and read up on it. Sure it's not as powerful as the E/F/S, hell most Excalibur models, BUT it's still a beast in its own right and more powerful than the VF-11/17.

This is a beautiful toy. It almost just looks like a dude wearing armour. I'd love this in my collection, but not right now. It'll have to wait for 2013 to be in my collection.

That looks totally awesome. But since i already have the VF-19S it's hard to justify for this one.

I'm not buying another Valkyrie after the 1/60 DX YF-29 Durandal. It's the most advanced Valkyrie ever created. The next Valkyrie I buy has to match or surpass the YF-29. I want to go up in performence, not down.

The quality of engineering and build of these new Yamato valks is superior to Bandai's renewals. Also, they don't get loose joints the way Bandai's goes limp. I suppose you meant just in terms of aesthetics. If that's the case, yes, Frontier valks look flashier, and technically they are more advanced, but toy-wise, the Yamatos are better.

Agreed. Once the Fire Valk was out, the bar was raised exponentially and I don't think anyone expected it to shoot up that high. This is the reason why I may buy each variant of the Excalibur released, and the P looks beast to me, even though it is derated compared to the F/S, et al.

I was talking about more advanced Storywise. I always like the more advanced Valkyries. But Toy-wise, The YF-29 is the best Toy Valkyrie I have ever owned, and I bought a couple of Yamatos.

I know it's all a matter of opinion, but I swear, having the Fire Valk sitting next to a renewal, it's like night and day in terms of transformation. Wow, are those Yamatos amazing. I too will probably buy most of the Amato Excalibur releases. I want this one, but I gotta wait until next year when I don't have so much on preorder.

Do you have a renewal VF-25? Those are better than the 29. The 29 came before, and many of the changes in the 29 were implemented in the new renewals, and then some. Storywise, the 29 is more advanced, but the 25 renewals are probably Bandai's best. That and the 171. As far as the new Excaliburs go, they are head and shoulders above anything Yamato has done in the past. as Shin said, it really was surprising the dramatic jump in engineering.

At any rate though, it does come down to preference.

I just have the 1/60 DX YF-29 Durandal. I just really like the fact everything is built in with the YF-29. Missiles, Beam Cannons, Convertable Gunpod, Combat Knife. You have to buy additional armor to get Missiles and Beam Cannons on the VF-25. And the VF-19, doesn't come with a melee weapon or beam cannons. I guess it's all about the weapons for me.

Heh, in that respect, the Durandal is much like the VF-4; the VF-4 is described as a VF built with the power of the Strike Valkyrie without needing additional FAST packs. Sure some could be mounted, but on its own it was more powerful than the Strike Valkyrie(just not as maneuverable).
