Young Justice 2 Pack Pre-Order Extended

Posted on August 14, 2012 at 1:00 pm by Tony_Bacala under DC Toy News

MattyCollector sent out word that the preorder for the Young Justice 6 Inch 2 Pack of Superboy and Miss Martian has been extended to 8/31/12. Today was the original cut off date, and they are about half way to the needed orders required to start production. This will delay the release by about 3 months, and if they don’t get enough orders by 8/31, it probably won’t get made. So if you are interested, head on over and grab yours today!

Toy Fans,

Great news for Young Justice fans! The deadline for the made to order Young Justice 2-pack has been extended until 8/31!

Today is the last day of the original deadline, and we’re halfway to reaching the target goal. Based on that, the decision has been made to extend the pre-order period until the end of August.

As happy as that makes us, in order to make these figures we still need to reach the ultimate target by August 31st. If this goal is not met, it’s not going to happen. Extending the sale also means that we will need to push back the release date for these figures approximately three months, but weighing that option against the alternative of not having the figures at all, we opted for the extension.

Some of you may wonder why we are able to extend this made to order sale when we are not able to extend the subscription period. The difference is that the pre-order figures are not tied to a specific production date. As soon as we reach the required target we can go ahead and start production. The subscription sales are on a set delivery timeline that cannot be changed.

Remember, the only way to own the 2-pack featuring the 6′ Miss Martian and Superboy figures is through this special made to order offer, and you must order by Friday, August 31, 2012, at 11:59 PM PT. If you thought you’d missed your chance, you just got a reprieve, but it won’t happen again!

Keep checking here to place your order and to check on whether we’ve received the minimum number of orders!

you don't need to subscribe. Just pre-order. If they get enough, your card gets charged (hopefully) and you get the 2-pack

for 50 bucks, I am not surprised. I honestly am curious as to the process Mattel goes through to make a final decision to do something.

I don't collect these, but this is what I heard.

Ok guys we will help youi interested in these products and not tell you the number of pre-orders we need but man it's such a specific number but we can't say.

But we will take your $50 and send it Digital River and we might not charge you but there might be some kind of issue and we will draft the amount and hold it up randomly.

No harm no foul is like matty code for the worst possible case scenario.

anybody know what there going to do about the 4 young justice figures they had planned (like red arrow, capt marvel, and the batman redeco) before ending the line?
there was a 4 inch yj red arrow figure on ebay that went for like $100 a few months ago so the figures are "out there" somewhere.

... so lemme get this straight... NONE of these are going to hit retailers... AT ALL. I thought subscriptions would get, in addition to exclusives, first dibs. But now if I'm understanding this correctly, it's either subscription or nothing.

All I want is a black T Shirt Superboy. but I don't want one so bad, I'm willing to bend over and let Digital River and Matty have their way with me.

The Miss Martian figure is one I would actually like to get, but I have absolutely no interest in the Superboy figure. I'm also very putt-off by the very high price for them. Considering only one of them comes with any accessories, and that's just MM's alternate head, twenty-five bucks per figure before shipping is outrageous. Though it's not at all surprising. This is Mattel after-all...

The recently announced GI Joe supscription figures are priced at about $25 a figure as well. So it is about the right price point for the limited size run and figure size. Although...the Joe figures do come with a few accessories each so these two could be condidered a bit high in price but not by much.

I don't collect these so I could be wrong but I thought these were pre-orders and not part of any subscription. You still would have to risk getting effed in the a by DR though.

The Young Justice 2pack -- Superboy and Miss Martian -- is through mattycollector.com only (will not be at retail, unless they change their minds and issue these in some line down the road), and will be available only by preordering them through mattycollector. This has nothing to do with a subscription. The subscription (Club Infinite Earths) contains entirely different products. Club Infinite Earths subscribers will not get this 2pack. Buying this 2pack will not get you the products from Club Infinite Earths.

On top of that -- if you preorder this 2pack, you may not get the 2pack. They say they will only make it if they get enough preorders. If they do not get enough preorders, they will not make this 2pack. If you preorder this 2pack and they do not make the 2pack, they will (hopefully) refund all of your money.

If they do not make this 2pack, they will still be making the products for Club Infinite Earths subscriptions. If they do make the 2pack, they will still be making the products for Club Infinite Earths.

I suppose there is the possibility that IF they do make the 2pack, and they make extra beyond the number of preorders they receive, that subscribers would get first dibs at those extra sets because of the Early Access benefit that comes with subscribing. But again that's only IF they receive enough preorders to make the 2pack.

Hopefully all that will clear this up for everyone.

  22. hrothgars's Avatar hrothgars says

No. Based upon the experience of those who have ordered already they require a CC at the time of the order. The CC will be charged some small amount to ensure it is an active card, then the money is refunded. The full cost isn't due until the items are prepped for shipment. I am looking for the post in the Ask Matty forums on Matty Collector to find it straight from the horse's mouth, so don't take my word for it.

I will repost when/if I find the specific response from ToyGuru.
