Wow, that's cool! They made one a few years back, didn't they?

I have the TOS Enterprise 1701 and the TNG 1701-D ships made by DST. I will recommend them to anyone. With the detail, lights, etc. they look great!

I own the first release and the paint apps on this one is by far an improvement. I have nearly all the ships they made from the nx, refit enterprise, the A, D, and first release E. I have this one and the enterprise B and klingon bird of prey all preordered.

Ooh I'm excited. glad they fixed the paint. hopefully the lights will be brighter on this one. cant wait to get the B and bop too.

Just saw those, cool! I will likely get the Enterprise B, BOP and disruptor!
And wasn't the first release date last year?

no the first release was a couple years ago, unfortunately they take years to get the ships out which has be a constant issue with diamond select its like one thing after another with them. Im hoping will see deep space 9's USS Defiant and the USS Reliant ad their next ships.

The stuff I would like the best for ships would be the Enterprise C, the 2 you named, a TNG Klingon BOP and a TNG Romulan BOP. For tech I would really like a TNG tricorder!

It's great that they are redoing this one but I already have their Enterprise E. Used to have the battle damaged version as well. I'm gonna pass on this unless the saucer separates, which doesn't look to be so.

I kept trying to get an Enterprise D when they made those but the price kept going up and up. They need to re-release that one or the "All Good Things" version then I'll be all over that. I'll probably pick up the Enterprise B they making once I see the scale.

I got the Enterprise D from a comic shop for $20! There was over 10 of them and they all had dead batteries so the place couldn't sell them as new. That's one of those once ever prices.

Holy crap that is amazing. I've never seen one in person sadly. I got my Enterprise E for only $40 from the Star Trek store in Vegas before they got kicked out.

I had just moved up here when the D came out and they were going for $50-$60 on ebay but shipping was around $30. I thought that was outrageous and wanted a better price. I thought they would kick around like the E had and I could get one used after a bit. I guess they made less than before so the dried up fast.

Unfortunately, the lights and sound problems have not been fixed. It is just a repaint with the same incandescent bulbs. The blue nacelle strips, which WERE designed to be lit, are still not going to be lit on this version. Also, the aztec detail on this version is way too scaled back. The first release has a much more intricate pattern.

It's very unfortunate that DST didn't take the opportunity to truly knock this out of the park. Mine will be going to Paul of Defiant Model Creations for an overhaul. The bulbs will be replaced by LED's, and hopefully the speaker will be replaced with one that can produce the sounds without the distortion.

Oh on a side note if you have the E and you want some ships to scale with it the Hallmark USS Defiant ornament, Furuta Jem hadar fighter and the hotwheels klingon bird of prey are perfectly scaled to the Enterprise E!

Also the Wrath of Khan Refit Enterprise and the A are also perfectly scaled with the Star Trek Strike Force Klingon Bird of Prey!

I have 5 of those little Jem Hadar fighters surrounding my E. The Bird of Prey is so impossible to figure out the scale since they are always different sizes lol.

Also, the F-Toys (what was Furuta) Defiant is great too. And it comes with a solid and cloaked version. You can still get them for a decent price I think.

Sure. Tell him I sent ya.

    Defiant Model Creations

Also, yes, the Excelsior is coming, but after the BoP, Enterprise-E repaint, and Enterprise-B. DST was smart in their modular design of them, reducing tooling costs by adding and switching some parts to make them accurate.

It's unfortunate that the ships have been in limbo since 2009, but the odds are looking better for them actually making it out this year, and perhaps early next year.

ill get excited when they make a version of the reliant from wrath of khan. with modular parts to make a battle-damaged version.

Indeed. U.S.S. Reliant NCC-1864 is high on MANY lists. Whether or not it is on DST's, hopefully we'll find out in 2013. I sincerely hope the new and re-release ships do well enough to warrant more!

imagine pressing the buttons and it'll be nothing but Khan quoting Shakespeare. TREK-GASM right there.

You not experienced Shakespeare until you have read him in the original Klingon.
