Press Release: Star Trek Kre-O At San Diego Comic-Con
I'm really hoping this leads to a 3 3/4" line for Star Trek 2 from Hasbro.
That is also what I was expecting. I am kinda glad. I would rather not collect Star Trek figures.
I'm a bit disappointed at how many pieces they fabricated specifically for this set. I wish they'd been a bit more clever to engineer this with fewer newly created parts.
I've seen it done before entirely eith existing legos, and look much cooler.
That's not to say I don't mind a few unique blocks. Just... disappointing that it's so much.
Not perfect, but I definitely like it. The fact that it has so many unique pieces to it is a plus for me. Though the decision to buy or not to buy it will really depend on how much it'll cost, and what other toy options Hasbro throws our way.
While I'm definitely looking forward to these Kre-O set's, I'm really hoping that Hasbro has a lot more in the works too. Most especially a nice sized Enterprise that isn't made from a bunch of plastic bricks. Kinda like the one Playmates made for the '09 movie, but without looking like shit.
Action figures would certainly be nice, but aren't a priority for me. At most I would probably get three figures (McCoy, Kirk, Spock), maybe four (Spock Prime).Though I might just look into getting the '09 Playmates one's.
Would be cool to see a line of Titanium ships. Most especially if they went back to past generations as well as the new movie. Would also be the perfect opportunity to get a toy of the 09's USS Kelvin made, which is something I would not hesitate to buy.

One of the biggest letdowns of the marketing for the last movie was the complete lack of merchandice for the Kelvin.
I WANT MY STARSHIPS!
