Art Asylum has posted new in-package photos for their upcoming Marvel Select Amazing Spider-Man Figures. Included are Spider-Man and The Lizard.
The packaging for Diamond Select Toys “Select”-scale toy lines is… pretty big. Okay, it’s really big. But that’s because it has to be! Ten years ago, DST designed their packaging to show off their 7-inch scale figures along with their killer display bases — like the upcoming 6.75″ Spider-Man figure from The Amazing Spider-Man, who comes with a wall-mountable awning to perch on. Nowadays, they alternate their regular figures with larger characters, like the upcoming movie-style Lizard, who takes up most of the space in his blister even without a display base! As a bonus, because DST’s Select packaging hasn’t changed in ten years, that means your newest Marvel Select figures will look great next to every other Select figure in your collection. They even have side art for easy shelf storage and reference! Both of these Amazing Spider-Man action figures will be out at comic shops and online retailers in early June, and they’ll look just as good in their packaging as they do out of the box and standing on your desk!

In-Package Pics For Marvel Select Amazing Spider-Man Toys
OK that lizard i just dont know... But the spiderman is a buy for me...
I might actually get these two as it looks like they went "all out" on the articulation for both these guys. And despite my loathing for "no snout" movie lizard this figure of him actually looks pretty badass.
That being said, is this the only lizard movie figure in any scale that we've seen so far that has ball joint hips?
Judging by the fact that the Lizard in the movie is about 9 ft tall this guy might be in scale with MU size figures.....which means I will buy him.
maybe ML but wouldnt it seem just a little to big for mu>?
If you put this Lizard with your MU, he'll translate to about 12 feet tall. Way too big for MU. Of course, you could use him as a random, giant monster for your MU characters to fight. That's what I do with any cool looking monster toys. Like the MOTUC Shadow Beasts.
Wow. FINALLY some decent looking Amazing Spiderman toys.
I get that the new Spidey lenses are kind of goldish, but when that translates to ORANGE lenses on all the toys, I want to puke on toymakers faces.
That lizard design is hideous, and not in a "hideous monster" good way. I don't understand why the face can't be more lizardly. Probably so he can show more emotion and we can empathize with him instead of having an actual cool looking villain.
Comic book movie staff need to start thinking in terms of what would make a attractive looking action figure a kid would want. Maybe then will we get movie character and costume designs that actually look good. Be careful though, that approach might bring you too close to the original source material! (Gasp!)
Disagree. That design is opposite of hideous and should scream "awesome toy" to most people.
I admit it's not what I think Kurt Connors should be. But we all need to take off our hipster googles and accept the movies, cartoons, and video games will always be different from the comics.
I absolutely hate the way Lizard looks, and I'm not crazy about Spider-man's eyes. I try very hard to judge different versions of stories on their own merits and not in such a biased, superficial way...but I REALLY hate that Lizard design.

As for the lizard, with the quality and accessibility of CGI now, you can't tell me that's the best face they could come up with for The Lizard... Really? I'd rather watch Land of the Lost. There is no menace there. Blunt teeth? no scales? Looks like a freakshow with full body tattoos, rather than a powerful human/reptile hybrid.
So far, the ONLY character in any of the Spider-Man movies that they stayed true to is the least liked among fans, and that was Venom... His story, mannerisms, and look had VERY little change, and yet still the fans whine.
The Lizard looks like a Sleestak.
and there....you see how they blur out the spiderman variant....we all know they had to make one....lol....just show it...
