Here’s your first official look at the products we’re planning to have available at this year’s convention. Some items will be available for pre-order at our voucher pre-sale from 5/30 at 9am PT through 6/14 at 11:59 pm PT for pick up at SDCC or after the show here on MattyCollector.com, and all will be sold at SDCC. Check back for updates, including images of the Hot Wheels® vehicles and the reveal of something ghoulishly good from Monster High®!

Masters of the Universe® Vykron™ ($30)
If clothes make the He-Man®, then this pitch prototype for the 1982 lineup is destined to be the star of the MOTU 30th Anniversary celebration thanks to a choice of three outfits: barbarian, spaceman, and military warrior! You’ll get him in-package dressed as a barbarian only at SDCC , but you can find him here at MattyCollector.com after the show packed as a spaceman or military warrior (all three outfits are included regardless of where he’s purchased). Want to know more about this multi-purpose warrior? Set includes one ‘buck,’ or figure, with three different outfits/helmets to interchange between space, military and barbarian looks. Check back for the history of Vykron™, soon to be disclosed”¦
——————————————
DCU Tiny Titans ($20)
They may be miniscule, but they’re mighty! The core team of Tiny Titans is rendered in 1-1/2′ scale in this 5-pack of collectible figures including Robin, Raven, Starfire, Cyborg, and Beast Boy. Sidekick City Elementary is just a quick bus ride away with packaging featuring specially commissioned artwork from Tiny Titans’ series creator. The display base has both the official Tiny Titans logo and a ‘flight’ stand just for Raven.
——————————————
DC Comics Vertigo™ Death ($25)
Some envision Death as a grim reaper or dark angel to be feared. But as created by Neil Gaiman for DC Comics’ line of Vertigo comics, the Sandman’s older sister is pretty, perky and always gets the job done. She’s been around since the beginning of time and is exactly the kind of girl you’ll want to follow into the unknown. Our 8′ figure of Death wears her trademark ankh necklace and comes with a skull-themed display base.
——————————————
Ghostbusters™ Dana as Zuul ($25)
‘There is no Dana, only Zuul!’ Our long-awaited 6′ figure of Dana Barrett as Zuul from the first Ghostbusters™ features authentic, film-accurate sculpting right down to her golden gown. And, with two interchangeable lower bodies she can stand or, when she tires of waiting for the coming of Gozer, sit on the included bench display.
——————————————
Disney – Pixar Cars 2012 Comic-Con Mater ($30)
This year’s Comic-Con vehicle captures the hilarious scene from Cars 2 when our beloved Mater finds himself in a Tokyo bathroom stall. Just like in the movie, Mater is surprised with flashing lights, catchy music, and a thorough scrub down! This memorable moment comes to life with moving side jets, as well as a jet that springs up to clean Mater’s undercarriage, lifting his back wheels off the floor. Covered in suds, Mater experiences hi-tech action unlike anything he’s ever seen in Radiator Springs!
——————————————
Polly Pocket® DC Comics Villains Set ($19.99)
It’s a guaranteed adventure with this trio of comic-book character costumes for Polly® and her friends! Polly®, Lila® and Lea® arrive in a themed 3-pack dressed as their favorite DC Comics villains: Catwoman, Poison Ivy, and Harley Quinn.

Mattel has updated the Mattycollector site with a preview of their 2012 SDCC items. Check them out here.
oh my goddess, if I don't get those tiny titans, I will die! I NEED them! I needs them sobadly!!!!
Wow, not a single thing I'm interested in.
Yeah, I agree.
im more interested in the hot wheels scooby doo mystery machine.
Yeah let me know when Hasbro posts theirs.. cant wait
Weak sauce.
Disappointed that there's no DCUC-esque figure. After Lobo, Wonder Twins and Gleek, Plastic Man, and Swamp Thing, all of a sudden -- nothing. MOTUC got an exclusive, why not DCUC? I'd like to have a Death figure, but that one doesn't look articulated.
Vykron looks EPIC. Who's going and wants to get me one?
DCUC got cancelled didn't it?
But if MOTUC has a subscription and gets an SDCC figure, I thought DCUC (or CIE or All-Stars or whatever they want to call it at this point) ought to get a figure too.
yeah thats pretty weak...i'm not interested in any of that stuff...but i'm sure there are loads of fans who are. so good for them i guess. sucks nothing for us DCUC fans.
Ok offerings, I guess. Just means there's less that I have to buy at an inflated price later which I'm actually kind of okay with. Would have been neat if that DC Vertigo Death figure was a 6" figure. Would have meant hope for other DC Vertigo figures like Sandman, Sand, Sandy, Unknown Soldier, the Extremist, Anton Arcade, John Constantine, etc, but oh well.
both Jinxes
Shockwave HISS Tank
I don't want the Marvel Universe Fin Fang Foom on giant card. Nor do I want any of their Star Wars offerings which will come out in stores anyway.
Mattel makes nothing I am interested anymore.
i think i'll probably get a hot wheels mystery machine, but that's about it. vykron does nothing for me.
Toy Guru has issued an update regarding some of Mattel's SDCC items:
“Hey DC fans, I’ve been on the boards and have seen a lot of questions about the new 8″ Death SDCC Staction figure. She is articulated at the waist, shoulders and neck, but really is a statue on a base. (a super cool amazing statue- of Death herself!)
To clear up any questions, this is not a figure from the DC 6″ world. Now that we have The DC Signature Series through Club Infinite Earths on Mattycollector.com, we have the freedom to explore lots more DC 6″ executions without retail restrictions (such as pricing and shelf size). This new freedom allowed us to use SDCC to explore new form factors to collect the heroes and villains of the DCU from every era Golden Age to New 52.
We wanted to kick off a Staction execution with a character that had never been done in 6″ (yet…) and would appeal to the SDCC crowd. Our Tiny Titans 5 pack is also a great tribute to the series and a fun way to collect ultra cute interpretations of the DCU (well the Titans…).
The 6″ line is doing great and will kick off online in 2 weeks with Flash 1 Mattycollector.com May 15 at noon Eastern.
We also have an amazing Dark Knight Movie Master SDCC item to reveal soon (just making some last min adjustments to ensure the lights and sounds work right in the package and all decos are correct!). This one will blow your mind!
Lots more is in store and look for all the latest at our Fan Panels at SDCC (date TBD). See you at the show!”

So how long until all their figures are staction statues?
So how long until all their figures are staction statues?
But joking aside,im keen to see the Hot Wheels, otherwise theres nothing for me here...
So how long until all their figures are staction statues?
I've been reading these and other forums and plenty of people seem pretty underwhelmed with Mattel's offering this year. On the whole, can't say I disagree. First of all, I'm a big Ghostbusters fan, and I'm disappointed that the exclusive figure this year was presented as part of the line at last years SDCC. Then they go and make it the exclusive? At least they're still making it available on Mattycollector. And for DCUC fans, man. They don't even get a figure. Sure, Death is being offered, but it's a statue with very limited articulation and not even in the same scale. It's a shame that after years of really great exclusives for DC that this is all they have this year. The continuation of the Polly Pockets are cool for those interested in them. And the Tiny Titans seem fun. But I just can't help but feel a little bit underwhelmed overall. Even the exclusive I was looking forward to the most, MOTUC, has me feeling a little lukewarm.
I have always been so excited for the MOTU SDCC exclusive figure every year, but this year is just sad. Greyskull, Queen Marlena, and Orko /Adam were all awsome additions, and this year has a terrible figure. I would have loved a 200x style King Randor ( that does not look like the Burger King) or a Greyskull era Sorceress, since they already have one Sorceress con exclusive, why not another.
that heman could be a good ares custom for 6in guys
Yeah, none of these really stand out to me. None are must-haves. So far, the Transformers exclusives are the only ones I might hunt down.
Yikes, what a disappointment...or embarrassment?
