Mortal Kombat Sub-Zero Fatality Statue From Syco

Posted on April 12, 2012 at 6:08 am by Joe Moore under Video Game Toy News

Syco has released some new photos of another new Mortal Kombat Statue. The new statue is for a Mortal Kombat: Sub-Zero Fatality Pose 18″ Premium format Statue. It looks like poor Scorpion didn’t stand a chance.

Surprise! Behold. The infamous Fatality that created some… kontroversy! Sub-Zero stands at 18″ tall and has Scorpion’s decapitated, yet complete with spinal cord grasped within his hand. This statue will feature an interchangeable arm, the base encapsulated in Ice and his right arm concealed in frosted resin up to the elbow. Tentative release date of July/August!

Check out the photos by clicking the headline of the story.

This is a truly EPIC statue, though I couldn't display it even if I had the money to buy it (4yr old running around and all that...)
Also, I don't feel the least bit bad that ol' Scorpion is getting Fataliti-ed (?) here as in most of the promotional material for MK9 its poor Subby who keeps getting his ass (or in the case of the video below, his head!) handed to him.

as cool as these things look (details are terrific) i'm having major issues with the proportions. whom ever is doing to reference work or actually sculpting these needs to take a break and at least try to get these things looking more human and less like something done by someone who's never taking a life drawing class or looked at an anatomy book.

i went to art school, they drill that stuff into your skull, not trying to be a hater but it's bugging the mess out of me.

Looks awesome. Could never in a million years justify buying it... But it looks awesome. For those complaining about Scorpion being the head... well, it's kinda accurate... Sub-Zero DID kill Scorpion, setting off the events and bad blood between the two...

    well...not really...

Scorpion was killed by the original Sub Zero (currently Noob Saibot) and was resurrected by Quan Chi. Scorpion then kills Sub Zero which turns him into Noob Saibot...

The current Sub Zero takes own his brother's mantle of Sub Zero to figure out what happened to him....which is the one the statue is made of lol

even in the new timeline, its scorpion who kills Sub Zero (the original one anyways) which turns him into Noob Saibot.

I know what you mean, I took art classes since I was a kid to highschool, so proportions are a visiual key. I agree fully with your statement, and to anybody out there not sure what we mean. Check the size of his bicep/tricep portion of his arm compaired to his stomache, it's basically the size of his entire rib cage. Also if his hand was laying straight down by his side , his fingers would be hitting knee level. I think statues are great for the attention to detail and the ability to represent an epic pose that us normal collectors can't pull off with regular figures and bases. My only hate on busts/statues, is that action figures have come a long and evoled from mego figures is the 60'-70's to the Hot Toys we now know and love. The attention to detail in their figures is rediculous and statues should strive to be more like it. In the sence of led's, some functional moveable parts, or removable pieces. Moving eyes, as the ex mentioned earlier could of had Shang Tsung with his hat roating around and around, while his eyes switched appearance from life to death. do that and I'll buy 1 lol.

Definitely agree with the proportions thing. The Rain statue is the biggest offender so far. Giant arms, tiny legs and a way oversized head.
