Marvel Select Ultron

Posted on February 8, 2012 at 3:45 pm by Tony_Bacala under Marvel Toy News

Thanks to MTV Geek for showing off some new shots of Diamond Select Toys’ Marvel Select Ultron figure.

Marvel Select Ultron Action Figure

A Diamond Select Release! Designed and Sculpted by Gentle Giant! DST has made plenty of Avengers in its Marvel Select line, but they’ve never made the team’s greatest foe: Ultron! The unkillable robotic creation of Dr. Hank Pym, Ultron is depicted in his classic form, in the same 7-inch scale as the rest of the Marvel Select line. Plus, he comes with a detailed display base depicting the fallen forms of Ant-Man and the Wasp, and features multiple points of articulation, for a variety of humanity-despising poses. Ultron comes in oversized collector packaging, and is only available on the specialty market!

Figure SRP: $21.99

Pitiful! And it'll be $25 too! The MU version is a hundred times better an more comic-accurate!

Major FAIL on this....what happened here?

If it weren't for those horrible looking hip joints, this would be worth getting. I know absolutely nothing about the character, and I'm not a Marvel collector, but I like how he looks. Sort of gives me a mouser vibe, like a large humanoid version or something like that.

Nothing like 10 inch scale hip joints on a 7 inch figure........

At least he'll have no problems giving birth.......

look at his expression lol, he looks so happy to murder humanity.

The little squashed Ant-man and Wasp on the base almost tempt me.......

    ......almost........

For the money, they could have at least put his jaw on straight!
    Looks like he's chewing gum.

The base sucks too, save for the Roofie'd out Ant Man and Wasp...which maybe explains Ultron's hips and expression....

holy hell, why does he look so happily surprised? who the hell did they hire to sculpt this? looks almost like someone's first try at 3d modeling or really really rushed zbrush work. even the shoulder pads look uneven.

Many customs are superior in sculpting and presentation.
They should have chromed him out with a better sculpt.

yeah, saw the torso in that thumbnail pic thinking oh that looks kinda rad. pfffffft. chrome ultron would be pretty sweet though.

Man Marvel select really need help on making sure the joints don't suck. Take for example the Movie War Machine great sculpt but limited pose ability. Also deadpool's articulation was not the best. They seem to have problems with the hip/leg joints.

So many Select figures are amazing- the recent Hawkeye looks incrdible fr example- and his base has a dead Ultron in it that looks more accurate than this P.O.S!

Most select figs- like the Watcher or Thanos- are sooooo worth the money...but not here.

ummm that is pretty bad. give me a week and i'll sculpt a whole new one from scratch that wont look like an experiment in poor aesthetics.
