2012 DC Universe All-Stars Sneak Peek

Posted on November 7, 2011 at 12:50 pm by Joe Moore under DC Toy News

MattyCollector has posted a brand new sneak peek at their 2012 DC Universe All-Stars.

DC Universe Fans,

As you know, the DC Universe Classics line is finishing up at retail with the highly anticipated Wave 20, including the Fan’s Choice Collect and Connect® Nekron. Then, following Wave 20, we’ll introduce a completely new DC Universe 6″ line at retail, the DC Universe All-Stars. Designed especially to complement the DC Universe Club Infinite Earths figures, this new line will blow your collector mind!

You first saw Larfleeze at New York Comic Con. Here’s another look at him, plus your first official sneak peek at the rest of the figures from the first mix at retail…

Larfleeze: The wielder of orange light finally joins the DC Universe! This collection-essential figure builds out the Corps.

Superboy Prime: The only super-powered being on Earth Prime, he comes complete with his Anti-Monitor armor.

Flashpoint Plastic Man: Check out this edgy new version of Plastic Man from the popular Flashpoint comics.

Batman Beyond: Behold our sweet take on the iconic Caped Crusader.

So there they are – the four amazing figures that make up the first mix at retail. It’s been an awesome year for the DC Universe line and with the DC Universe Club Infinite Earths program on Mattycollector.com and the DC Universe All-Stars line at retail, 2012 is going to be even better!

Dear Mattel: Terry Bats & Plasticman are both supposed to be skinny. Even Superboy-Prime looks way too 'roided-out. He's strong, but he's a teenager. He looks bulkier than the DCUC Superman. Just look at those redonk biceps. Argh.

We can live with Plasticman being somewhat bulky, Flashpoint depicts him this way. Terry needs to be a skinnier buck. He would look better even at Larfleeze proportions. That Superboy costume & head sculpt are awesome, don't get me wrong, but tone down the muscle man look across the board, please.

Not too thrilled with wave one I am glad to see so much variety but the Batman Beyond looks like the one we already have except matte black instead of gloss. The superboy prime and larfleeze are nice but I think I like the DC Direct ones more. Flash point plastic man looks good I just don't like flashpoint.

I agree with Terry FOR SURE. However, this is Flashpoint Plasticman, he is kind of...built.

These figures look pretty good. I already have the skinny version of Plastic Man that was an SDCC exclusive so this will be a neat take, even if I hate the whole Flashpoint thing. I think Superboy Prime looks weird mainly because his head is so tiny. Neck, too. It looks disproportionate, not roided out. Almost like he's wearing a muscular exo-suit of some sort.

In Flashpoint, he was a villain, big time. If you haven't read Flashpoint, you should =3.

I hope so. I am hoping they plan on branching out more to Canadian branches of big American retailers other than just TRU. Wal-Mart Canada has never carried DCUC.

I find this first wave to be surprising.

I thought DCUC was leaving retail to make room for more mainstream characters, not more obscure ones.

    I'm not complaining, though.
