WWE The Rockers Figures and Figure Stands Announced

Posted on November 3, 2011 at 6:48 am by Joe Moore under Wrestling Toy News

MattyCollector has revealed a set of WWE figures based on The Rockers. They have also revealed the WWE Superstar Display Stands.

Remember back at San Diego Comic-Con when we announced that starting in 2012 the WWE® Legends line would be available exclusively at MattyCollector.com? And remember we also promised we’d be kicking things off early by reuniting fan-favorites Shawn Michaels® and Marty Jannetty™ in action figure form this fall? Well get ready, because on Monday, November 21 at 9 a.m. PT you’ll have the chance to pick up our exclusive WWE® Legends 2-pack featuring The Rockers!

We’re stoked because not only is this the first time The Rockers 2-Pack ($30 per pack) is being offered by Mattel, but Marty Jannetty™ has never before appeared in our lineup. Official product pages are being created as you read this, but in the meantime here’s the description from the package-back:

Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty were friends and tag team partners even before they hit the WWE® scene as the Rockers. In 1988, the lively duo gained instant success after several victories against the Brain Busters and Rougeau Brothers. Although they proved themselves to be worthy opponents, the Rockers never officially held the World Tag Team Championship. The duo did defeat the Hart Foundation in a World Tag Team Championship Match in 1990. Unfortunately, the top rope broke during the best-of-3 falls match, and because of that, was later declared a no-contest. The Rockers’ legendary partnership came to an abrupt end in 1992. Michaels brutally attacked Jannetty, hitting Sweet Chin Music and putting him through a window during their infamous interview on The Barber Shop.

Also jumping into the ring on November 21st are our WWE® Superstar Display Stands. These fan-demanded stands have been specially designed to display your favorite WWE® 6″ figures from Mattel (works with most) and will come in a pack of 25 stands ($12 per pack).

Remember, the sale starts Monday, November 21st at 9 a.m. Pacific (12 noon Eastern) right here at MattyCollector.com.

I'm guessing this is being edited right now? I've been waiting for these guys forever ever since they showed images of them during the Series 2 release.

I wish Mattel offered a subscription service for their Legends offering through Mattycollector.

I'm a little worried about what it'll be like trying to get these at 9:00am on the 21st.

In a way, I'm happy that they aren't offering a subscription service. I don't know if you were around to vote for the top 5 Legends, but only one of mine made the grade. I only collect up to the late 90s (and I have to really like the guy), otherwise, it's mostly mid-90s and earlier. I don't want a Diamond Dallas Page figure and would feel depressed if I had to buy him. I'm a huge DDP fan, but there aren't many WCW figures to go with him and he didn't enter the WWF until they bought WCW. I actually skipped Stonecold and the Rock simply because they didn't fit with the rest of my Legends collection. It was a stretch for me to get Brian Pillman but as a Canadian, I wanted the entire 90s Hart Foundation and I know he entered the WWF AFTER Stonecold did.

If they did a sub, then collectors that would get all of them anyway could subscribe and not have to worry about missing out because scalpers jammed up Mattycollector's server on the 21st.

Collectors that only wanted certain figs could still log onto Matty to get the figs they wanted specifically the day they went on sale, so it would be a win/ win.

There were a lot of gret Jakks Classic Superstars, but Mattel's wrestling figures are superior IMO, especially the ones with elite articulation.

I think Jakks should invest in some new bucks simmilar in scale to Mattel's product and produce a Legends of Proffesional Wrestling line.

With Hogan, Sting, Flair, Hardy, and even Taz and Steiner they have plenty of big names they can still translate into big $$$.

These Mattel figures look a lot better, but the Jakks Deluxe line had superior leg articulation quality. You can barely bend the legs forward on these Mattel Elite figures. On my Sgt. Slaughter, his legs practically want to snap off when I bend them forward.

Try loosening them up with some boiling water to get the joint moving.

I did this with a few of mine and it solved the problem.

I cannot wait for these! I guess I am going to have to grab the Defening moments Shawn Michaels while I am at it just to have them all. Also tho figure stands are nice I may order a few so the ones who didn't come with them can get off of DCUC bases.

These guys put Jakks' Rockers to shame IMO.

Some of these wrestling figures look great and have tempted me to pick a few of them up in remembrance of when it would have been ok for me to watch wrestling but these rockers look nothing like them IMO. They look like barbies to me, maybe kens cousins?
