Young Justice Select Series Aqualad Sighted

Posted on September 24, 2011 at 6:40 pm by Shin Densetsu under DC Toy News

While randomly stopping by Toys R Us today, I perused the aisles in search of cool toys. I’ve noticed that Toys R Us has started to cater more towards the collector with more and more collectors items thrown into the mix. This, in addition to having higher markups than other stores(sometimes surprisingly high), and the new offer of ordering stuff that isn’t on shelves but might be in their warehouses.

Anyways I’ve noiced that sometimes Toys R Us gets things 1st. Today was no exception as I saw the Young Justice Select Series Aqualad figure. I think it’s safe to say that most of us Young Justice fans here are buying the Select Series figures over the 4″ figures. In addition to full articulation, the Select Series is in 6″ scale, so they can go alongside your DCUC collection.

i dunno about fitting in with the normal 6 inch dcuc...they still have that overly castroon look and robins face looks like hes got a bad case of flatulence.

I haven't seen another since the last one I found a month back. Too bad there was black paint in his hair. Still kind of looking around for one.

News has been slow if this is on the front. Oh well...it at least alerts other fans I suppose.

I didn't realize this was already out. First time I saw it was today. Guess it shows how bad my area can be with distribution. Since it's out in my area now perhaps its hitting saturation.

Looked pretty good in person, possibly the best accessories of the currently available figures.

I need to find one without black paint in the hair. Too bad no one is buying right now since the price is too high or not a lot of fans of the series. Good thing they're airing new episodes. Maybe this will help get more out into the wild.

I've seen lots of these in person. Pass. The quality is nothing I look for in a figure, and I don't think it is worth the price. The packaging is also huge, which I can see is more for display reasons, but this is a figure intended for mostly kids (not marketed to adults or labeled "Adult Collectors" and should have been produced more efficiently. It is going to bomb, unless for some reason the Christmas season saves Mattel's ass on this mistake.

I'm curious on the price tag... if its more than DCUC then no parent will buy that for their kid when they will either lose it, break it, play with it for a day and forget about it.

    $24.99. Holy shit, right?

so 34.99 Canadian, probably. Mattel makes me laugh. At least hasbro prices things reasonably...

I'd pick this guy up if I saw him in the wild.

He'd be my first Young Justice fig.

He's cool on the show, and looks like a cool fig.

Did you buy him Shin, or just snap a pic at the store?

Agreed. I saw it at two Walmarts at least 2 weeks ago. And he is my favorite of the line so far, but not enough to drop $25 on. If I actually watched the cartoon I'd probably cave in though. I really like all the accessories he comes with.

Just snapped a pic, waiting to see it at Target since I would save $5 buying from them.

I am still on the fence on these figures. I like them but do I really like them enough to display with my Marvel Universe stuff? I wish the comic companies would get together and decide on ONE format/scale for their figures! Now I have to make customs of the DCU figures I want in the MU format, style and scale...I hate that.

Well... I'm looking forward to finding this ... at my local comicbook shop. Got Robin and Artemis there for 24.99. Sooooo same as US price in this case. Can't find these in say, WalMart or TRus

I Found this figure going on a month ago now at Walmart. IT is a very nice figure though. It actually is proportionate to the other DCUC Figures (just shorter than Aquaman but taller than Robin). Love the line, just not necessarily the price point. Frankly I can do without the background, but the extra weapons are neat (though when DCUC first started each figure came with plenty of accessories plus a build a figure).

Either way. I'll be getting them as they continue to come out, particularly Superboy (whow I so prefer having a t-shirt/jeans look) and Ms. Martian.

Hasbro doesn't make DC comics related action figures, Mattel does.
