The Munsters In-Package Photos

Posted on September 2, 2011 at 5:20 pm by Joe Moore under Horror Toy News

Art Asylum has posted some new in-package photos of their upcoming figures based on The Munsters.

Being a monster can be a little rough, especially when you’re trying to live a low-key life in the suburbs. It does have it’s advantages, though — they never seem to age! They look as fresh as they did back in 1966! Series 1 of The Munsters from Diamond Select Toys features good-natured funeral home worker Herman, his lovely wife Lily, and her cantankerous inventor father Grandpa! Hop in your Dragula, roar on down to your local Toys “R” Us this October and check ’em out! Or pre-order the specialty-store “Select” versions here, and you’ll get the extra parts to build your own electric chair!

Photos can be seen by clicking the headline of the story.

Good to know the TRU versions will come with the accessories. Only really wanted Lily and Grandpa for their accessories (not that I don't want the figures, which look really great). Can live without the electric chair.

I've seen pictures of both Marilyn and Eddie as unpainted sculpts somewhere online. I'm sure they're on the way.

I've got a full set of the 12" Munsters figures and they are a must have. A couple years back I trolled eBay looking for them, and after a few months they were mine. I still can't believe what they sell for, especially since two of mine showed up in the mail with Dollar General stickers on them (as the name suggests, they came from a shitty dollar store).

Grandpa and Herman look spot on, Lily is ehhhh, why in the hell is it so hard for companies to make as good of face sculpts for the females as they do for the men?

^ I think it's because males usually have harder/stronger features that are easier for sculpting. You can exaggerate features and they translate well to smaller scales. Females are softer and usually features that aren't as pronounced.

Awesome photos. Saw these at TRU yesterday. They are very impressive, especially for the price. Wasn't able to pick them up then but definitely plan to get them soon.

I mostly draw in gray scale, and this is a big issue when depicting women. I can draw male facial features with a lot of shadowing and hard lines, but when I draw a woman's face I have to use a minimal amount of detail to get the results I want.
