MattyCollector Classic Voltron Transformation Video

Posted on July 30, 2011 at 4:41 am by Shin Densetsu under Voltron Toy News

Last week, we saw the 1st images of the Mattel 23 Inch Voltron, and now we can see it’s “1 touch transformation” steps in a video by MattyCollector!

The keys trigger auto-morphing transformations. What do you think of them?

I'm actually glad I saw this. I am not a fan of the one touch transformation. Basically if you lose all of those key things then you're screwed. It just seems way to simplistic. I want to transform it on my own and combine them on my own; not just snap a couple of pieces together. Passing on this one.

Kind of cool, but I agree. I would rather transform it myself, and the the way you have to go about making the hind legs "pop out" for the red and green lions is a bit disturbing if you know what I mean.

i think anythings legs would do the same if a key was jammed in the same spot...

I'm a big fan of the size but the Toynami Voltron looks to be a better buy and a better quality. For that reason ill stick with my plastic Toynami Voltron. The one touch transformation is a little cheesy and I prefer the manual transformation also.

Pretty cool features, but not a selling point. Would be good for kids, if kids were going to buy these things.

Haha...if any kid was lucky enough to have $290 at their disposal.

Anyone remember how tall the giant ass Trendmasters Voltron with pilots was? It was in TRU in the late 90's. Couldn't bend at the knees but sculpt was blocky like this.

If it was anyone but Matty Collector putting this thing out, I might think about it.

I've heard nothing good about them as a company. Anyone egocentric enough to use a picture of himself wearing a crown as the logo doesn't need my money.

Someone PLEASE show this to Omegus Prime... he couldn't handle plugging a Cyber key into BW Megatron's a**... I'd love to know what he thinks of this.

Well, now I know why the thing's so d*** expensive. They added an unnecessary gimmick. I'd buy the PCC line first. And I think they're just as big a waste of money.

... This is so true, I bought TWO.

Yeah, I was on the fence about this Voltron but these gimmicks definitely turned me off. I don't like that feature at all. And, yeah, if you happen to lose the key, you're pretty much screwed. Why would they add such a dumb feature to a collector-driven line? I'm really disappointed by this because I really wanted to get them, at least the lions.

Man I'm beginning to think the giant ass Trendmasters Voltron with articulated removable pilots may look better than this. Anyone have that one?

Looks like a magnetic release for the auto-magic transformation.

I forsee those mechanics breaking with play as well as that key snapping off at the tip.
