Roshan has stopped by with info and preview images for his upcoming guide to Marvel Legends! Here’s what he had to say:
Roshan’s Guide To Marvel Legends: The First 10 years(2002-2011)
Hello all! For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Josh Carlson and I go as Roshan on action figure discussion boards. Those that do know me have been waiting for me to reveal my long hinted at project that I’ve been working on for the past year. Well the time is here and I’m happy to announce a new collector’s guidebook coming this fall: Roshan’s Guide to Marvel Legends: The First Ten Years (2002-2011).
Although I had been slowly putting the pieces of this project together early last year, it was the announcement of a return of the Marvel Legends line that really spurred me into high gear to finish this book to coincide with the relaunch this fall. This is a historic line, that has had as significant an impact on the action figure landscape as GI Joe and Transformers did in the 1980’s. They have their guide books from such great authors as Mark Bellomo and James Kavanaugh. Now Marvel Legends deserves its turn. With the relaunch of the line, many collectors will be looking to jump back in and pick up where they left off, and at the same time, new collectors will be entering the fold. This book hopes to be a resource for both ends of the spectrum.
Roshan’s Guide to Marvel Legends will feature every figure in the line including major variations. All figures from the Classics sub-lines (Hulk, Spider-Man, X-Men, Fantastic Four), and Marvel Select will also be included in the book as well as bonus material. There will be 600+ full color photos throughout the book.
The book will be available for viewing at Wizard World Chicago August (11-14) and first available for purchase at Wizard World Los Angeles (September 24-25). You can also pick it up at Mid-Ohio Comic Con in October and Wizard World Austin in November. The online store is still under construction and will go live next month so stay tune for further details.

Congrats on finally finishing the book. Can't wait to see this book around, looks promising from the pictures.
Dude! This is SO cool. I would love to own this! Well done sir!
Hey glad to see you got it done! Looks great!
Yea I will probably pick this guide up.
Looks cool, does it give a pricing guide?
I've probably bought and sold off 2000 legends figures in the past two years building up exactly what I needed for the book and prices varied wildly on all types of figures. The Chinese underground market can change things on a dime as well. Last year getting a Phoenix or Dark Phoenix you'd consider her a challenge to get at a good price, now loose Phoenix's are dumped on ebay from Chinese sellers who found overstock.
So given these factors, I felt it best to give a rarity/value system to it as a guide for a new collector. I won't tell you what the prices are, but knowing that Dragon Man is a 10 and Longshot is a 1 will help new collectors figure out where to best focus their efforts in building a collection and to avoid being taken for a ride at toy shows. No one should spend more than $5 max for a Longshot, but if you see a Dragon Man for $30 at a show you'd know to scoop that thing up lickety split.
wow a Marvel legends book for collectors very nice , a must have in any ones collection .
I don't collect ML but I like my buddy Roshan and this looks like a pretty cool book.
I will be picking one up.

For anyone else who wants to stop by for a book at Wizard World Texas my booth number is 1806 in the Artist Alley.
Congrats on the book!!!
Congrats, but since this thread's about a book and not toys (even though the book is about toys), it belongs in the Marvel GD.
P.S. If I still collected Marvel Legends, I would totally buy this book.
Got this awesome book from Roshan! It is good for existing collectors of the line or new one that want to get in. Pick it up!
BLACK FRIDAY SALE! If you guys have been hesitant on picking up a copy, this is the weekend for you. My Marvel Legends guide is 50% off the cover price ($29.99 on sale for $15) from now until Sunday at Midnight (11/27). This is not a permanent discount, it's just a Black Friday thing that was brought about due to my annoyance with the terrible Black Friday ads I've been seeing all week with hardly any good deals. So I thought I'd make my own
Go ahead and pass it on to your friends or pick one up for them while you're at it.
