Now thanks to a post on 4chan we have some in package images of the 2011 SDCC Exclusive Marvel Legends Modern Thor figure. Thor comes packaged in a special packaging mimicking his trademark Mjolnir hammer. The front of which is labelled with “The Return of Marvel Legends“.
The flip side of the hammer shows the famous inscription: “Whoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy shall possess the power of Thor“. Included also are a couple of additional shots of the Thor figure outside of the packaging.

an exclusive? really? is this how hasbro is trying to win over the folks? bad move. it its not accessible to the reast of the people who cannot go to these conventions, its just gonna leave a sour taste in their mouths.
Great find Sean!
Anywho, you can buy this online at HTS.com after the convention and besides...the WW2 cap that was an exclusive last year was made into a figure for the cap line and is mainstream. So...this figure can be accessible at some point I'm sure
Gimme gimme gimme.
I look forward to the return of Marvel Legends. Hopefully this signifies the line's return is not so far off.
well....better late then never
Can't wait for this one it looks even better than the MS & MU ones combined!! I do detest the exclusive treatment this guy got because with Thor being critically acclaimed & all, many people will want top get a comic figure that is dead on with the movie. That was a HUGE opportunity for Hasbro to capitalize there & it's a shame that they wanted to do that.
Very cool. Now give me a Throg figure already!
hmmm...scary eyes
So I'm assuming when this mold gets released at normal retail (which it most likely will be, unless they made the new mold for one off usage like this) that it will have some kind of paint apps or accessory or something to differentiate it from the con version right?
Isn't DC kind of killing Marvel in the toy department? I don't remember seeing Marvel's characters in a 6" line since the "other" Marvel Legends line ended several years ago. Many lines may be downsizing, but they should really have a 6" line to at least compete with DC's "DC Universe" line.
Meh. Toybiz Thor is the only Thor I'll ever need. For an exclusive this guy better have real metal armor lol.
Are they bringing back the Legends series?
That's not a bad sculpt at all!
Not even remotely.
I just hope they re-do some figures from the previous lines, like, oh I don't know, ULTRON. Don't get me wrong I wanna see new figs, but I want a classic ultron in 6 inch scale, and a bigger Captain Britain and wonder man, they were great figs, but kinda small.
New images of this figure in some unique packaging:

Marvelous News reader SolidSnakeInMyPants has revealed to us that Hasbro's first wave of new Marvel Legends figures for 2012 to contain the following figures:
- Klaw
- Hope summers
- Constrictor
- Steve Rogers
- Iron man
- Movie Ghost Rider
- Thor
The Build-A-Figure will be Terrax.
It should be noted we have not been able to confirm this list ourselves from Hasbro, but Snake has had pretty good Marvel Legends intel in the past so we thought it was worth passing along to you. We should obviously no more directly from Hasbro during the course of the week as the 2011 San Diego Comic Con kicks off later this evening.
