Captain America 2 Packs Release

Posted on July 13, 2011 at 2:59 am by Shin Densetsu under Marvel Toy News

Well here’s an item that came out of the blue. Recently, a surprise started to trickle into Target stores, a previously unrevealed Captain America 2 Pack! This pack features Arctic Assault Captain America(repaint of the movie Captain America from wave 2) VS Cosmic Fire Red Skull(also a repaint from wave 2). In addition the 1st sightings of the Captain America Comic Packs were made this past weekend(which also revealed that they are Target exclusives).

Not all Target stores have these yet but keep your eyes peeled! Don’t forget to post your sightings in our Toy Sightings Forum!

Found by 2 different people on Joecustoms.com at Target.
    Locations: Colorado & Lousiana

Just weird since the comic packs are Target exclusives too.

The Cap looks terrible but that Red Skull is pretty cool with the red cosmic cube and red accents on his uniform. Any pricing info on this set?

Dumb as that Cap looks, he's still far better that the one with the snowboard!
I may scream if I see that stupid snowboard again on the pegs!

Gotta give hasbro and target both props. They know how to cater to fan demand. That red skull is going to be a pain to find, so packs like this are extremely welcomed.

Is there any real different in the Skull minus the red cosmic cube? I thought I remembered him having red accents on the original figure.

  10. vampireheart's Avatar vampireheart says

Yea I think they just did a color by number system, randomly generated what part of the figure gets what color and then just said...."hmmm theres alot of white on this figure...I know! its an arctic adventure combat captain america" "the kids will love it...and we can target the colectors by calling making it part of the "concept series" (Dr. Evil laugh soundboard clip)

I actually love this set. I think Skull's suit looks great. And Cap is so stupid looking that I need it.

That be one ugly Cap. I like that version of Red Skull though. I'll hold for clearance for I know it's inevitable.

    Concept series?
What is the concept? Maximum Suckitude?

  17. omega145's Avatar omega145 says

The concept series is Hasbro trying to make money off of pre-existing molds and throwing $hitty paint on them to make a few more bucks. Thats clearly the case for that "arctic assault" cap. The GI Joe line has desert and arctic figures as well but at least they come with cool accessories and are actually good figures. That cap is just plain garbage and belongs in the dollar store next to the action hero figures.

This Cap figure makes the Thor movieline look like Bowen statues.

Omega! I know how much you love these incredibly rare variants. Have you heard about the Red Skull with no belt buckle?? Its a one of a kind!

It's weird that they call it a concept figure- the Iron Man line actually were unused concept stuff from the movie..though 'd have prefered more comic line.

    Win!

Thanks for sharing those red skull links. I'm going to buy both and have an awesome collection of super rare red skulls that'll one day buy me a mansion!

Ooooo. I actually like the color scheme on the concept Red Skull more than the single pack. Sigh...my wallet can't seem to catch a break.

Agreed.. My wallet has never been able to save for anything over the past year or so.. damn plastic... I love how all of us are like "God that Cap is ugly, but wow that Red Skull is nice, and he has a red glowing cube rather then blue.. I need it... how much, lol" I was thinking the cap figure probably wouldn't be bad at all if we just painted the pants blue or black!
