i like they fact that they addressed the ninja's mask as not their fault, but the licenser's. i've got a sneaking suspicion that there was a teeny bit of grumbling on the interweb. it's a true statement though alot of the time alot of awesome looking stuff gets put aside for the less awesome. the articulation list looks promising though

Y'know I've been pretty much hating on these figures in the all the previous news updates Toyark has released so far since their official carded pics. But I found the 6 inch Sub-Zero today and readily picked him up.

And I just realized with him actually in my hands, the ONLY thing that I could hate about it are the horrid eyes, the rest is what you'd expect in a good action figure. Buuuut I can't say the same about the others though - so I won't take back much of what I've said about this line. I saw Scorpion also and I just went "eww" no way in heck am I pickin' that up....

I painted my Subby's eyes in with Matte White Tamiya paint after rubbing them out a little with Gundam Marker Remover (basically Acetone - I think - in a pen), and I got pretty decent results - he looks much cooler!!! (don't really care if it's game accurate or not, I always prefer Sub with completely white eyes anyway)

Where did you find it? How is the plastic quality?

I found him in a "f.y.e." store in the mall I usually frequent. They only had Sub-Zero and Scorpion when I happened upon them.

About the plastic (forgive me, I'm no expert), to me it's pretty sturdy and hard all around (for example, much harder than say, perhaps a DCUC figure? And more on par with a NECA figure, y'know the ones that think they're action figures, but are more like hybrid statue-figures) with soft plastic used only for his sash/loincloth area and for his ice blade.

This gives me hope in the line, and Buying them. I didn't like the looks of his eyes either when I seen the test shots displayed. I prefer the robots myself, I really want to get me all the robots buy some loose lightsabers on ebay to equip them and buy some fight stands to make an epic looking battle! in either version haah, I love toy and MK.

This is how WB and the game creators thought it should look.
The makers of the original game used sports equipment from the local thrift store to make the cyberninja outfits... sure it looked good as a sprite on a grainy game, but looks rather silly in true 3D. They should have used the revamp look in the new MK game... very faithful to the feel of the original, but looks like a machine and not a hockey player with a paintball gun mask.

Yeah they don't look very good at all. Kind of disappointing. I gave a big frown when I originally heard this was all going to be Jazwares. Seems I was right.

I'll buy one or 2 to check out(Sub Zero and Scorpion), I bought the Shaolin Monks versions of those 2, and plastic quality aside(little soft and loose), both were cool, and that was 5+ years ago.

I had the "I'm buying at least one of these regardless of how nice they are because it's MK!" attitude until I saw one.

I'd say these would be cool for $10. Maybe you guys will like them better than I do, but I was a little disappointed by them. They just look cheap to me.

I had high hopes for these guys, but aside from Sektor and Cyrax, they just don't look appealing to me at all. The Scorpion and Subzero look like oafs and the joints look just don't look promising.

I will buy all of the 3 3/4" figures. I love that they are in scale with Joes.

I have Scorpion. Are you Black Magnus from TFW? Upper body articulation is decent, lower body like the knees and hips are hindered a lot. Sculpt is decent, could use more skin tones and dry brushing on the armor.

Yup, that's me homie. The only ones from wave one I was interested in are Scorpion and SZ. Hearing that about the legs is dissapointing. I don't mind having to add paint apps where needed on my figs so, that's not an issue.

Overall do you enjoy them? Worth the buy?

Ive goteen sub-zero and I do love him. All the joints were surprisingly tight. I think the balljoint elbows and balljoint knees should have ben pins myself but he is decent. He is just a 1/4 inch shorter than the average DCUC figure. A shame really. These figures would be awesome at 10 bucks a pop. But i paid a lil bit over 16 after tax. A couple extra accessories wouldve made the price more bearable. Figures like raiden with no accessories is really gonna be hard to swallow. Though ive gotten the sdcc vewrsion for 21.67 of tru.com.

I was hoping for more of a gimmick with these. They should have Fatality variants.
