Posted on July 1, 2011at 3:23 pmby DESTROunder San Diego Comic Con

Toys”R”Us Exclusive San Diego Comic-Con ThunderCats “Classic Lion-O”

“ThunderCats, Hooo!” Lion-O, the leader of the ThunderCats, is presented in a new, highly-detailed 8-inch action figure with 18 points of articulation and a metallic finish in this recreation of his classic 1980s action hero look. Now collectors can imagine taking on the evil forces of the mutants of Plun-Darr and Mumm-Ra the Ever Living with accessories that include the iconic Sword of Omens (in two sizes), Claw Shield and the Sword stand.

Am I insane, or was that set released years ago with those exact figures and molds? In fact, I'm pretty sure it's incredibly common and cheap.

    Here, Republic Commandos Delta Squad.

Very true, they were released before. Chances are they used the same mold for these ones... EXCEPT for the legs. The old ones didn't have leg articulation, which isn't a big deal to me personally because I just put them on display (like most people do). But, they are definitely not common and/or cheap. If they were, I would had them in my hands a LONG time ago.

    Here, Republic Commandos Delta Squad.
The clone mold they are using is from this BP:

Rebelscum.com: Star Wars The Legacy Collection Photo Archives

So, the above post was correct, as they have new legs with improved articulation. Sadly, I'm pretty sure they still don't have any shoulder joints. Either way, I really want this set.

DAMN IT! The ball shoulders are the joints I wanted to see on these guys the most, nearly every other Star Wars figure at this point has them!

I'd like to get my hands on that version myself. I passed first time around, but I have pre ordered the black version with trailer. After hearing about the QC issues it had, I'm glad I waited..
