Play Arts Kai Halo Combat Evolved Spartan Mark V

Posted on June 7, 2011 at 6:08 am by Joe Moore under Video Game Toy News

The Cybergundam Blog has posted a new photo of another Halo: Combat Evolved figure from Square Enix. After seeing Master Chief, we now have a first look at the Play Arts Kai Halo: Combat Evolved Spartan Mark V. The figure is due out late 2011.

A larger version can be seen by clicking the thumbnail.

Is it possible to get the now canceled City Strike Scarlett into the spring POC line? Maybe as an exclusive if not for the main line? Even if you had to swap out the head with something like Helix head and call her City Strike Helix, or add a whole new head sculpt of lets say Jinx or a new character, just so we can get that awesome base figure sculpt and those fantastic accessories. It would be a shame to let something this cool fade into plastic oblivian.

I would just like Road Pig, snow Serpent V2, Desert Scorpion, Annihilator, Gung Ho (Marine), The Fridge, and the Tomax/Xamot in suites, in 25th anniversary style. Any chance of any of these figures getting on the table of production?

What is going on with the Snow-cat/Wolfhound deco? We're now seeing released versions with black marbleized chassis but pure white missile launchers, which seems to be the worst possible deco choice Hasbro could make. Why isn't the whole vehicle either marbleized or pure white? Isn't /Hasbro worried about releasing a vehicle which looks so differently from it's box art? Is there any hope of a running change that will get us a pure white Wolf-hound?

    • Tomax/Xamot in suits: Highest chance is an exclusive of some sort.
    • Fridge: Most likely dependent on if royalties/use of likeness costs.
    • The others I'm not sure, but Desert Scorpion is going to be included with one of the mechs for 2011.

Will Renegades take over for the Pursuit line? OR will both Pursuit and Renegade be in tandem.

All going to depend on how Pursuit Of Cobra does at retail and if retailer demands can be satisfied by reintroducing and/or continuing POC alongside Renegades.

I would love to think that it will do well. There are ton's of reasons why I think it will. Pakaging, Character selection, and decent advertisement. Plus the hype of a non 25th series is actually getting me a bit excited.

I would love to see some "real world" adventures of our favorite 25th characters!!....SPEAKING OF WHICH...SCI-FI? WTF would he look like in this line.

Has Hasbro been having issues getting product to retail? I've noticed bare pegs in Target and Wal-mart for more than 3 weeks now for Star Wars and Marvel Universe toys. As of today, shelves are literally bare. When will the new Vintage series (SW) arrive in stores and we seem to be several waves behind in Marvel Universe with wave 6 having never shown up (in my area at least).

Man. They really play their cards close to the chest...My question was dashed!!

But, SDCC is only a few days away...soo...I guess we will know Hasbro's plans one way or another.

The Fall reset is taking place at all retailers across the U.S. things especially suck here in MD. TRU, Target and Walmart aren't getting in new stock until September. I'm sure things will pick up just in time for Christmas with all of the movie related toys that came out this year as well as TRON Legacy toys that will get a front endcap at all major retailers across the U.S. in December.

    1. If Stalker's codename is keeping him from having more figures, why not give him a new codename? Something like or featuring "Hunter" perhaps?

    2. Even though Pursuit of Cobra is likely to fade away when Renegades takes over, is it possible to see the new HISS and VAMP repainted in different color schemes (ala desert VAMP and urban HISS).

    3. Why was the dual-laser cannon arm from the Sigma 6 Iron Hammer not utilized for any of the 4 POC mechs? It's arguably the most realistic-looking weapon for the mech.

    4. One of the best improvements the Anniversay line brought to the table was working holsters with removable pistols. These started to phase out during the Rise of Cobra line and are also missing on most Pursuit of Cobra figures as well. Why the lack of working holsters for recent Joe figures?

    5. Is it possible to incorporate more personality references on filecards? As of now, they only speak about a character's role on the team but fail to provide any character personality traits for kids to incorpate into their play patterns. The little bit of description for characters fueled my imagination as a kid and offered a springboard for further adventures for my Joes and Cobras.

No hope for classic vehicles? I wonder if they even have big plans for the 30th anniversary. They did a great job with the 25th stuff and I wonder if they, for lack of a better term, blew their wad already. There are still soooo many things I would love to see get an update.

Yeah for classic vehicles, I think vintage is the way to go at this point. If you don't, you may be hoping for a re-release of a vehicle from your childhood only to find yourself a few years later still without seeing it. For 30th, your guess is as good as mine. Bear in mind, GI Joe 2 may be in 2012, and Renegades will have been on the air for a while by then too. Will 30th get pushed to the side like 25th/Modern Era did in 2009, in favor of Joe toylines with media tie-ins? Who knows.

I really hope we see some acknowledgement of the 30th anniversary. A whole line would be preferable, but at the very least, I hope there's some kind of box set.

If the new troop builders are anything like POC Alley Viper, then sign me up!

(I will still only buy one of each, as I don't troop build).
