Is this the same one as the exclusive from NYCC or whatnot?

I can't believe I'm going to pay $60 for this and be happy about it, but thank you Marvel. I was swearing every time I saw the price on one of these for sale.

EDIT: "Offer Valid 10/01/10 — 1/31/12." I could have had this in October?

DOUBLE EDIT: Has anyone received a confirmation number yet? I don't want to sign up until I'm sure the offer is working.

Wow, they waited long enough. Soon it will be time for the next subscription exclusive that should be released to retail instead.

Hopefully, people who subscribed last year in anticipation of getting this guy will still be eligible.

Definitely a nice offer, but I went for the cheap offer... got him for $5 (really, they were on offer here a month ago) and just repainted him

As of right now, those who already have a subscription are NOT eligible. I signed up for Nick Fury and carried over my subscription because I liked the digital comics. But now if I go to the Archangel page and sign in it gives a "Sorry, this is for new subscribers only" message. Which is BS.

Not sure who the angry e-mails need to go to to try to get this changed....

I just did it. Had to recreate my account though and use a different email. Just remember to save your confirmation number at the end. You'll need it to put on your certificate.

Actually, scratch that, this 65 bucks to get him is a bit much.
If it had the 30 dollar offer like nick fury did, I'd be all over this, but 65 is a bit much.

What is the subscription like? how many titles? how far back? I have alot of missing
issues of Avengers and would love to finish reading THRU the series from
issue 200 back around 1980. is it worth it?
If it includes OLD stock, i'm in! if it's just NEW stuff, no thanks.

wowwwww nice news for this. but how much total we have to pay for this exclusive ??? i mean, just at that time we get charge or next example every month we get charge for marvel digital comic ??? sorry a lot question, i dont get it for this subscript thing, can anyone explain shortly for me ???

What's bugging me is that the have the digital subscription service and the iPhone App running as separate services. If I could pay $60 a year to read comics on my iPod, that would seem like a great deal.

You get charged one time for $59.88. It is for a one year subscription. The subscription works out to $4.99 a month, but they charge it all at one time. $4.99 x 12 (12 months) = $59.88. Then, you still need to send in a check to cover shipping and handling for the figure, which comes out to $5.17 for US residents ($6.86 Canadian). So, you end up paying a total of $65.05 ($66.84 Canadian residents).

I personally don't care for the digital comics. I prefer to have the actual comic in hand when I read. That's why I liked how they did Fury last year. I was able to cancel my subscription after a few months and not pay for the full year. I guess Marvel is really pushing the whole digital thing. Print really is dying a slow and painful death, evidenced by Wizard and Toyfare ceasing publication. Sad news for me, personally. But technology is changing almost every industry. Companies need to adapt or die. Sorry, going off on a slight rant here.

Again, to answer your question simply, Amalberga81, you pay $59.88 and then mail another check for $5.17 for a total of $65.05 to get this Archangel.

Hi everyone. I already have a subscription which is billed as a one time fee of $60.00 so if I cancel I lose out on that money that already has been charged. I honestly don't think they will refund the difference if I were to cancel so I could subscribe again as a new customer. So I decided to write a complaint to their costumer service. This is what I wrote:

    Hello,

As you can look up I have been a subscriber since June 2009 and I had my account automatically renewed in 2010. Today I was very excited to hear that you could finally order the Archangel Action figure. To my dismay you are only offering it to new subscribers. Please help me understand your logic in this. I have given you my money for the past two years so this how you treat me and all the others who have already given you their money. What’s the harm in allowing them a chance to buy the figure that you give to those who haven’t been around. If you want new subscribers give them a 10% discount. It’s not fair to only allow new subscribers to get this figure. Valentine’s Day is next week so show some love to the people who are already devoted to Marvel Digital Comics and let them order a figure too. Thank you for your time.

I'll let you know if they get back to me. If you are in the same situation as me I encourage you to complain. The only way to have something changed is to let your voice be heard. It doesn't cost you anything to spend 5 minutes and write an email expressing you distaste as to how they are treating their subscribers.

I am so pissed, I signed up through this link this morning and I check my account it says I am not eligible for this figure? I am HOT I swear on my life if marvel sticks it in me I will sell all there shit that I have and sell everything I own contained to marvel. I have bought all of these figured to this collection and am not missing any but this one....so MAD!

I'm in the same boat. Damn it, Marvel... I've got every 3 3/4'' comic based figure from every line (screw the movie figures, imo), and have been a digital subscriber since they first offered the Nick Fury figure. I want this X-Force Archangel figure, and if I have to buy 2 Archangels and give one a custom paint job, it just won't be the same. What gives??

I may pay $30 for a limited edition TRU Green Lantern 3 3/4" movie figure, but $60 for a digital subscription and scrub ArchAngel? Not in this lifetime fools.

  23. Snowflakian's Avatar Snowflakian says

    02-09-2011, 03:30 AM

Right now I'm kind of hoping they decide to do a better variant of this costume for the mainline. No way in hell I'm paying 65 for this figure. The digital subscription isn't that important to me, especially considering thanks to the Marvel writing, I'm down to only buying a few titles a month now from them.

I hope hasbro makes a version that's more towards the X-Force with Warpath, wolfsbane and co. He had a lighter blue face in those issues instead of this blue. The more I look at this figure, the more the blue contrast to the black and silver suit just offsets it too much, ditto those pure silver hands all around he looks 'off'. Plus the lack of alternate wing styles, hopefully one with the short wings, or both wing sets will be released later. Probably a long shot, but I'll hold out for that, or just get a custom done instead.

So yeah, I'm definitely passing on this. The figure just doesn't feel right. Add in the cost, and my not being enthused about how marvel writes outside of a few select titles, and I just don't see the point in wasting the money to get this guy, because the subscription isn't enough of a draw for me at all. Not at that price at least.

Probably a shot in the dark, but maybe we'll get an uncanny X-Force version later. That one has less silver in front like the minimate figure depicts, it also has a lighter blue face.

Has anyone gotten the certificate e-mail yet? I just subscribed via the archangel link for 1 year. I only got a confirmation e-mail but nothing about the figure.
