2011 Captain America And Scorpion Plus Lizard

Posted on January 6, 2011 at 1:16 am by Shin Densetsu under Marvel Toy News

TARDIS has posted 3 auctions on Tao Bao for the following:

  • Captain America vehicle driver figure
  • Lizard
  • Scorpion
The 1st figure is from the Captain America movie line(comic series). The rest are from the Spiderman 3-3/4″ line, and the villains look like they are fully articulated. See for yourself after the jump!

Cool! Spiderman has a great rouges gallery so it's nice to see some more of the villains get figures.

spider man has a ton of enemies and some more villians in the 3 3/4'' scale would be sweet, aside from multi-colored versions of venom, doc oct, and green goblin, give me a morphius, king ping, shocker, vulture, black cat... etc

I'm all for more Spidey rogues and supporting characters, as long as the articulation is there.

I agree so far at least, besides as big as the Marvel Universe is, the only way we will see a long list of the residents is for their to be multiple lines turning them out. That and I believe{hoping not} that once the new IM stuff starts hitting along with the Thor and Cap. movie stuff as well as the other "summer blockbuster" toys start hitting that MU will definitely take a step back if not completely off the toy aisles.

I would like to see a mysterio and kingpin figure. I don't know how they would pull of sandman the way it should be done but he would be a nice addition. Hydroman too.

Yeah right dude. Marvel Universe will always be top dog and the movie figures will just be peg warmers aside from a few select figures. The difference between Marvel Universe and the movie line figures is that the movie figures are specifically character centric. You won't find a Wolverine in a Captain America movie line. You won't find a Luke Cage in a Iron Man movie line, and you sure as hell won't see a Spider-Man in a Thor movie line. The collectors will still jump the gun for a rare Marvel Universe figure that you wouldn't see anywhere in a Thor, Iron Man, or Cap movie. Now I do imagine movie figures will be immensely popular with the kids when they're first released and to some collectors for maybe a specific figure to compliment their MU collection like a Crossbones or a proper Bucky Cap. These movie figures will basically be the same character in a bunch of different outfits with the exception of very few. Now if you want a variety of characters Marvel Universe is where it's at. Whew... sorry for the rant brosef.

I think you misunderstood me. I prefer MU{not crazy over most of the movie designs as I prefer the classic comic ones so I really only use the movie lines to suppliment my MU with figures that have not been given the MU treatment} over the "movie lines" BUT it has been proven in the past that when the "summer movie" toys hit that many of the year round ones tend to get pushed back to only a few pegs if any. Hasbro and the stores bet that kids{the target audience for toys afterall} will want a Captain America or a Thor or even a new Optimus Prime after seeing the previews or the actual movie this summer. Granted after all the summer hype is over MU will I'm sure rebound. MU is by far the best bet in getting variety but the stores and Hasbro want the money they are betting on with the movie lines.

Yeah I thought you were implying that they would quit selling MU and that Hasbro would just toss the line in the garbage for the movie lines.
