We have received our answers for the last round of Hasbro 2010 GI Joe Q&A. Hasbro has sent back some pretty informative answers, a detailed way to end the year! 2011 seems to be a promising year for the brand, and it looks like female characters won’t be left out.
1) Would the canceled Pursuit of Cobra figures of Sci Fi, Crazy Legs, SAW Viper, Steel Brigade troopers, and Shadow Guardsmen look out of place in the GI Joe Renegades line?
A) G.I. Joe Renegades will be incorporated into the style of the current Pursuit of Cobra line. As such, none of those figures would look out of place in the line.
2) Does the GI Joe Renegades TV roster provide ample reason to include more female figures in the Renegades line?
A) The G.I. Joe Renegades roster isn’t so chock full of female characters that we would go and add more female figures to the line. As we may have mentioned before, female figures don’t sell as well as other figures but they take the same amount of work to make. That being said, we do plan to introduce one or two female figures before the end of 2011.
3) The warm reception of the PIT Commando, and forthcoming Cobra Shock Trooper is proof that all new troop builders with a generous amount of gear are a hit with fans(new and old), and customizers. With potential to become a huge line, are troop builders with lots of gear seen as vital to the current line strategy for Renegades?
A) We are happy that the current line has managed to please fans with the troop builders that have been included. Given what we know about the popularity of troop builders, we have a number of figures in the 2011 line that should make fans happy. However, while troop builders are a great part of the G.I. Joe line, they can’t be the only figures. We plan to balance them with the other great characters that inhabit the G.I. Joe universe.
