The Toyark has received answers for the latest Hasbro GI Joe 2010 Q&A session! Crossing fingers for a rerelease of a GI Joe item from your childhood but don’t losing patience? Ever wonder why the dual cannon arm was left off of the recent Steel Marauder mech suit from Pursuit Of Cobra
1) The VAMP from GI Joe Pursuit Of Cobra is a new vehicle that has already impressed many fans. With the Renegades line launching next year, is a repaint of the VAMP, possibly with new weapons, off the table, due to it being realistic as opposed to having animated styling?
A) At this point we are still working on finalizing the Fall line and nothing is off the table.
2) Why was the dual-laser cannon arm from the Sigma 6 Iron Hammer Mech not utilized for any of the 4 POC mechs? It’s arguably the most realistic-looking weapon for the mech.
A) The dual launcher did not have a play-action feature so the team decided to set it aside in favor of more action-packed accessory arms.
3) As we approach the 30th Anniversary of the GI Joe A Real American Hero line in 2012, feelings of nostalgia are starting to kick back in. Inevitably, fans have voiced their desires for their favorite vehicles from childhood, that did not see release in the 25th Anniversary line. For venerable vehicles such as the Tomahawk, Skystriker, Night Raven, WHALE, Tactical Battle Platform, for example, would you suggest tracking the vintage versions down? Or would you suggest holding out for possible re-releases or even new toys based on the original designs(like how the Star Wars designed team made the new 2010 Cloud Car, Snow Speeder, and AT AT toys) to celebrate the 30th Anniversary in 2012?
A) At this point your best bet will probably be to look for vintage versions of those venerable vehicles.
