MattyCollector Announces New DC, MOTUC, Ghostbusters

Posted on October 11, 2010 at 6:11 am by Joe Moore under General Toy News

MattyCollector has announce a bunch of new items. Included are new Green Lantern Classics, Masters of the Universe Classics and Ghostbusters.

“Green Lantern Classics – Wave 2

Here’s your first official look at the second wave of dedicated Green Lantern comic-style figures! Includes interchangeable heads and hands on the two Green Lantern characters (Nautkeiloi and Medphyll), as well as the two Red Lantern characters (Skallox and Night Lik). Night Lik is an all new character created by the Four Horsemen and named by Geoff Johns. He will appear in an upcoming issue of Green Lantern, but appears first as a Mattel toy in the Green Lantern Classics line! This wave also includes a 3-pack of mini-characters: B’dg as a Green Lantern, Dex-Starr the Red Lantern, and Despotellis the Sinestro Corps member. The sixth and final figure is a Green Lantern movie preview figure, in movie style. For now, we can only show it in shadow… look for the full reveal in January in an issue of Toy Fare magazine!

Panthor® – March 2011 Club Eternia™ Monthly Figure

Back at SDCC, we showed a helmet in the display case. We can finally reveal that this spectacular large-scale beast is its owner! Includes saddle, newly sculpted head, and an all-new vintage style removable mask.

Ghostbusters™ Courtroom Peter

This new 6″ scale Peter Venkman™ figure is our first single-carded Ghostbusters™ 2 figure! Comes with a brand-new Scalari Brother Ghost figure with swappable feet (flying feet and standing feet). NOTE: This figure will be released in January and Ghostbusters™ 2 Winston with Slime Blower has been moved out (release date TBD).

Walmart-Exclusive DCUC 2-Packs from Wave 1

All new 2-packs of best-selling, previously-released DCUC figures available only at Walmart! Just like all other previous 2-packs, these packs contain figures and accessories only, not the Collect and Connect™ figure parts. Packs include Gentleman Ghost/Hawkgirl, and Superman/Parasite.

MOTUC vs DCUC – Wave 2

Originally shown at SDCC, the next two MOTUC 2-packs feature original art from DC Comics and a collectable poster of both characters fighting it out! Packs include Hawkman vs Stratos® and Aquaman vs Mer-Man®.

MOTUC Weapons Pak Great Wars Assortment

The product was shown at SDCC and now here’s the package. It’ll be available November 15th 2010, so click here to see the full description.

MOTUC Weapons Rack

Coming spring 2011! Please note, this item will not be included in 2011 Club Eternia™ subscriptions.“

Saw this over on Doc Owen's page. Lots of pics and commentary.

    AFT- League of Extraordinary Toymen!

DCUC just keeps getting better and better.

I am with him that I am glad Ion didn't get a bad hair day.

    Check it out.

Excellent... more GL! I've had this wave preordered at BBTS for a month, now.

I have nothing in particular to say about them, except Stel looks amazing, and Sapphire looks great. And I guess I'm going to have to make sure I get two of the GL and RL figures.
I'd love to see a wave that, instead of a BaF, each figure comes with a guardian (each with a unique head sculp), finishing off with a three pack, like that one, that has GL Ganthet, Sayd, and Scar. With a chase of equal run in their blue and black (respectively) lantern outfits.
I'd also love to see a wave that focuses on trying to get a member of every corps out there. We still need Larfleeze, Saint Walker, and Indigo.
Hopefully in wave three, we'll get Natu, or Arisa.

You knwo Crazy, that is a great idea. Almost inpsired. That is exactly what they should do. I would definatley get that set. and it would not be hard to do.

Scar wi=ould be oh so cool

    Heh heh, thanks.
IMO, no Lantern corp could ever be complete without the guardians. And this is a way to get out a (nearly) complete set of them to the diehards, without trying to sell little old blue men to children so you can break even.

Even though I just picked up a loose and complete Gentleman Ghost, I'm thrilled that Mattel finally listened to the fans and are rereleasing this figure. Though, I'm very disappointed that it's a WM exclusive, my area STILL hasn't gotten the GL 5 pack and I missed it online. I'm hoping they rerelease Guy Gardner as a single in the GL Classics.

You know Jimster, I don't know of very many people who have actually seen the GL 5pack in a store. Everyone I know had to buy it online. Maybe walmart is holding out to closer to Christmas.

    hey Crazy
why not have Doc pose that as a questiont o Mattel and see what they say?
He is takeing question upto the Oct. 15th.

Maybe we can egt an answer.

It's worth a shot. I'm not really a very big message board poster (as evedence by my ten posts ;P) So I'm not sure who Doc is, or where anything needs to be asked (Or even sure what the question I posed is?).

And I managed to find the GL 5-pack in the wild. Gardner's sitting on my desk right now. (Had him being punched in the face by Batman, for a while)

The idea of hard to find figures being brought back in Walmart exclusive 2 packs is cool, but yet another Superman? Eh, I already have Steel, but I think Steel would have been a better pack in.

I agree, Stell would have been vastly better, but perhaps better, how about Supergirl ?

I need that Hawk Girl two pack. Glad I never resorted to ebay for her.

Those were hard to find? I saw them all the time.

They were in my area. In that a lot of them never hit the shelves here.

I want a Parasite, but not another Supes. Probably just look for one of the loose ones on ebay.

You might be right about WM holding out. For example, the ONLY times I saw wave # 10 on the pegs was 2 weeks before Christmas last year and 1 week before Easter this year. Seriously that's it played out. I don't know if you noticed but the online listing for the GL 5 pack says in limited stores.

Crazy Jetty I asked Doc over at AFT to ask Matty about your Guardians suggestion.

Hopefully we will get an answer.

Just got Wave 1 in today from BBTS.
Quite a nice set, with some surprises.

Black Hand has the new elbow and knee articulation, the Manhunter has the new knee articulation, and Abin Sur has the new elbow articulation.
I was wondering how well the new troopbuilder concept, with the "Background" lanterns coming with two heads and hands, so it can be two different characters, and I have to say it's quite nice in practice. Low and Maash both came individually carded, even though they have each other's head and hands.
Mongul though is way too small. I hope he gets to be a BaF later on (Maybe with a severed arm held in place with a ring energy construct.
But this first wave gives me a lot of hope for the future of GL Classics.

Nice. So Kyle features the standard buck then? No new articulation for him? How's Arkillo?

I'm torn between ordering GL Wave 1 next month or the Azbat's wave. I want all the figures in the GL Wave and only 4 of the figures in the Azbat's wave, but I want Bane. Argh, so difficult to decide.

  19. Crazy Jetty's Avatar Crazy Jetty says

    12-13-2010, 06:47 PM

Arkillo is nice. Not as nice as Kilowog, but he now ranks as my second favorite BaF.
Woulda been cooler if his tongue as a necklace was an accessory for him.

Yeah, Kyle's regular, as are Low/Maash. But Kyle has a great head sculpt, an all new lantern, and a positively beautiful sword, that's made out of harder plastic than I'm used to.

I'm with you on AzBat's wave. But then that usually describes most waves. Only want a couple figures, but also want the BaF. Bane's especially frustraiting since I want as many of the Secret Six as Mattel will release.
