Looks like I'm skipping any orders for next month as the MOTUC offerings don't really interest me. However, October I'll be looking for Roboto and Zodac, then Grizzlor in November.

I wonder which Zodac it is. The first release?

I was wondering what Zodac it would be too. I'd lean towards the second release to keep the first one more collectible for those who already bought him. However, it does say "out of stock" on the listing, and not "gone for good."

As for my wants Roboto tops the list, then Grizzlor. The Ghostbusters are very tempting as well.

I'm pretty sure it's the 1st release, the 2nd is spelled Zodak and the one being reissue is Zodac like the 1st release.

I never noticed that! Good point.

Interesting. Wonder why they changed the spelling at all.

There was no spelling change. Zodac and Zodak are two separate characters.

Originally it was due to packaging errors/variants during the 80's toy run. Making them separate characters was a retcon introduced by the 2002 show. In the 80's, Zodac and Zodak were one and the same.

Due to the retcon, Zodac now refers to the original Cosmic Enforcer and Zodak is the apprentice/successor. So the MOTUC releases are both part of the new continuity and a nod to the 80's packaging errors.

Personally, I prefer the "Zodac" spelling because it's closer to "Zodiac", which matches up with his cosmic origins.

Mystery solved! Thanks for the explanation. It's been awhile since the 2002, and I didn't remember that, and I had no idea about the packaging in the 80's. I prefer the Zodac spelling too, for the same reason you state. I always thought that was cool, and I assume that was the original intention.

Yes to Greyskull. And the ghostbusters are very tempting.

  15. trebleshot's Avatar trebleshot says

Zodac is apparently reserve stock left over from the previous release, and not an official reissue.

Masters of the Universe Classics Zodac "Reissue"

Greyskull is definitely tempting. Definitely tempting.

I hope when they re-issue Grizzlor, they do one in the light brown fur. Just for the sake of nostalgia.
