OH SNAP!!! azrael as the bats, at last!!!! that looks sweet, and the two version of the Robin....hmmmmm I might just get him so I can place him next to the current Robin figure Deathstroke?!? but he was out in the SOLOMON GRUNDY B.A.F. series (which I am still missing Solomons torso)!!! what gives?!? ahhhhhh MISTAH JAY, I am most definitely getting him!!!!

I was pretty stoked about the (1989-ish) Batman figure. Pic isn't too clear, but it's pretty close to Burton's Batman.

These are very nice figures. I officially went from completely "off the fence" to "on the fence". We'll see....

    Azrael Knightfall Batman:

I don't know what the hell that thing is in Wave 16, but Knightfall Batman it is not. It looks closer to the suit from a cover of Agent of the Bat but in Knightfall colors or something:

Could be a new take on the design.

I noticed that right off the bat. No pun intended. Perhaps 4H went with the later suit since DC Direct released a version of the earlier one. I'm happy to see that some of wave # 10 made it into the rotation. I already have this Joker but I will pick up the repainted TRU exclusive when it gets released.

Yeah, Azrael looks kinda funky. It reminds me of those DC figures that Warner Bros. Studio Store used to carry years ago. They'd have all kinds of weird molds and decos for Batman and co. (I think some of them were based on Elseworlds books).

I'm definitely interested in gettting Joker and maybe even Deadp-- er, Deathstroke.

If you look closely you'll see that the Wave 16 Azrael is a combination of both the Knightfall and the Agent of the Bat versions. Maybe it was a compromise since they couldn't see themselves doing more than one Azrael, and I'm sure Mattel would prefer to have a Batman with a bat on his chest.

It would have been nice to have the Knightfall Batman as a regular with the Agent of the Bat as a variant.

That AZBAT is the design of his suit that showed up at the end of Knightfall/knightsend arc but in the colors of his first suit...confusing but I agree with Razorlights reasoning

    hi guys,
you should re-check the knightfall series. The new wave 16 azbats is actually the correct incarnation. During knightfall DC was making a point out of how its readers had consistently drawn parallels between wolverine and other pseudo batman like antiheroes. As a ploy to deal with this they threw the azbats character into the breach to see how well readers would digest it. What people got was a character that went though gear and suits just like the x-men on steroids.

The first incarnation of azbats is infact just a normal blue and grey batsuit but instead of gloves he used gauntlets.

Then when facing Bane azbats built the suit we know from batman 500.

Post Bane on several occasions azbats comments on how the suit is "Barely enough to prove himself". The next version is the 500 suit but with a helmet over the black cloth mask.

After that suit gets shot to hell, he builds another suit with a flame thrower in the gauntlets along with all sorts of other madness. This one doesn't have the cloth cape.

In his final showdown with Bruce, who heals his back and comes to reclaim the mantle, the flamethrower accidentally sets his own fuel doused suit on fire and the blue metal turns red leaving the red armour.

Speaking of Batman costumes that don't look right, what everyone think of the new Batman costume Bruce Wayne will be wearing in a few months. To me it looks like a lot like the Arkham Asylum video game version but with the yellow oval around the bat logo.

Wow I stand incredibly corrected. I had even read that whole series when it came out and forgotten about all of the upgrades that went on with the suit throughout it. Whenever I think back on Knightfall I always think of the suit from Batman 500 and have completely forgotten about any transformations thereafter.

Thanks for dropping all that knowledge there, very good rundown of what was going on with the suit during that series.

Wait a minute I thought the black suited Joker was the TRU exclusive and the purple suited version was going into wide release with wave # 16. The black costume Batman from wave # 10 is included in wave #16 just as it was orginally released so why wouldn't they do the for The Joker?

One more question when is wave # 14 going to start hitting the pegs? The original release date was July and we're at the end of August with nothing out there except a couple of prtotypes listed on Ebay.

I saw that as well. I decided to go with the original release even though I didn't want the complete wave # 10. A fellow collector told me WM's in his area, W VA, were getting repack cases with all of wave # 10 except Man - Bat as recent as this past June. They were still pretty scarce in my area NW IN but I've already beaten that dead horse.

At least you dodged that bullet. I made the horrible mistake of paying $40.00 for The Joker on Ebay when it was first released then 2 days later at a local WM there was 1 on hanging on a peg. The joys of collecting.

My only reprieve was when wave # 13 got released. It's basically the same as your experience with wave # 10. There's a collectible action figure shop right across the street for one of my local WMs and the collectible shop was selling them for $25.00 a piece so I took a pass on them for that price the wnet across the street and there they were for $16.00
