We’re getting word from multiple members that NECA’s Predators figures are being spotted at retail. The first wave consists of the Berserker Predator, the Falconer Predator and the Classic Predator. All three have been spotted and it appears Toys “R” Us is the spot to check.
I'm not sure if this is the right forum to post this on, but i went to Toys R Us today and found the new Predators figures. I only found the Berserker, and falconer soo no classic predator but i'm sure he was there. Pics coming soon, and if this is the wrong forum, please move or lock
thanks. Pics Are Up
1 of the berserker with box, and receipt and one with just the receipt. Sorry i couldnt get a picture of the Falconer, my nephew left just before i took this picture.
i got the berserker and the classic today also, theses are pretty damn awesome, the classic is like tiny movie maquette!
No luck @ the TRU today for me.
I saw them all today at TRU. They looked great, but at $16.99 a pop I think I'll pass. I still like my McFarlane Predator the best because he has better articulation. If I see them on sale or clearance I might pick one up.
i'm repainting the classic right now tonight i'm putting a light in the berserker's mask...
i'm thinking i'll buy a few more just to get to posse from the last scene in predator 2
here's a quick pic, keep in mind that i'm not finished yet.
I picked up classic and berserk at TRU yesterday as well. Buyer beware: My classic predator seemed to miss the glue station; the top row of hair wasn't glued, and the armor was glued improperly. Fixed that with some glue of my own. The head kept falling off too. It seems that the peg well in the head was malformed, so I had to dremel a bit so that the peg would seat properly. But it's all good now!
Gee, $16 to $17 a pop was more than I expected @ TRU. If a place like Suncoast Video gets them, I wonder what they'll charge?
I do like my McFarland & have him set up on my bookshelf. Can't recall which one he is but he's the one with the really long blades/gauntlets on both arms.
I haven't seen any of these yet (or the movie for that matter) but I do have several Predators from past toylines at home. How do these new ones compare to the previous NECA and McFarlane releases?
In terms of both sculpt and articulation this thing blows it's predecessors out of the water. I love the Mcfarlane one, but the only thing that holds up is the sculpt. The NECA classic figure from the movie has an excellent sculpt and articulation that allows a huge range of posing.
Ball shoulders, hinge and swivel elbows, hinge and swivel knees, cut hips, ball ankles, ball head. It's a fantastic figure. My only problem was a little quality control issues, but they were easily fixed.

I would recommend it, even at the steep price. I have pred 1&2, as well as the AVP Celtic all from Mcfarlane, and while they are good, this figure is great. It's even better than NECA's wolf, which while expertly sculpted is short on articulation and slightly pre posed. If it were 3 3/4" scale it would be nearly as articulated as a GI Joe!
The 7" McFarlane Predator that I have has wonderful articulation, surprisingly so for a McFarlane figure. The smaller versions, 4" I think, don't have anywhere near the articulation as the bigger version.
My personal preference is for the ball/socket joints over the cut or swivel. Most of the Mctoys feature cut elbows. Since it doesn't seem likely NECA will make AVP preds, Mcfarlane's will blend in pretty well with the new stuff out of Predators. Also in Mcfarlane's favor, the AVP preds have more bulk than the NECA releases.
While this is true to the design of the creatures in the movie, it seems like Mcfarlane's sculptors toned it down a bit, and produced some great looking predators. So if you have a shelf full of predators, the might look able to tool on fellas like the Berserker and Falconer, since both figures are on the skinny side.
For those who have seen Predators, did Fishburne say they're battling with each other & the bigger/taller ones are the leaders or rulers? I think the original Arnie Predators are the taller ones.
The berserker, falconer, and tracker are the big bads- the classic gets spanked!
